One of their groundwork’s subbies was saying that open market plots are being mothballed but partnership/BTR still going ahead presumably as contractually committed.

Thanks but if these the shares convert/are replaced I’m not sure that I can hold US shares in my Halifax Investing account.

The communication doesn’t make it clear if I need to do anything about this but if I need to sell my UK shares they could have announced this at a time when the share price isn’t depressed by events in the Gulf.

I cannot fathom how amateurish and unregulated this whole process is.

I tried to sell my holding this morning as I did not trust Aegon to process my request correctly especially as I missed the deadline on the single email I missed informing me of my options. Their platform will not allow me to sell now as the "stock is not available to sell" by their broker Winterflood but I was under the impression from previous posts that trading continued to at least the 28th May.

I've had an email from Aegon which says:

"Referring to you Take Over request, our broker (Winterflood) have confirm your request have been noted and will be processed on best endeavor basis."

Their reply doesn't fill me with a great deal of confidence. Having had bad experiences dealing with Aegon I guess selling is probably going to be my best option even though I'll be a bit out of pocket.

Thanks. I messaged Aegon on Wednesday afternoon to see if I can still accept the offer as its been extended. They know nothing about it but are trying to get a response from their broker Winterflood. I will give it to the middle/end of next week and if I've not heard that I can accept then I will sell. Does that sound like a decent plan?

Did you sell in case you got nothing? I haven't voted on a couple of accounts one with £18000 of IDS shares in it and I'm worried that somethings going to go wrong.

I've now found an email from Aegon saying I had the option to accept the cash offer or do nothing but I had to respond by 25th April which I didn't do.

Worried now that something terrible could happen!

I have IDS shares with Halifax, Aegon and Trading212.

I received an option to vote from Halifax which voted yes and my shares disappeared into escrow.

I never received anything from Trading212 or Aegon so couldn't vote on those accounts.

I assumed if the overall vote was to sell the offer my shares in all the accounts would just be converted to cash which would be credited.

Do I need to worry that I didn't vote on Aegon and Trading212 and is there any danger that these shares will be cancelled and no cash received in which case I will sell now. Or can I wait for the sale to go through and just wait for the cash?

Has anyone else got their holding with Halifax and had their shares removed from their account months ago and still cannot see and therefore trade them?

Cheers I was hoping this is the case. Disappointed that Halifax feel that it’s within their gift to deny me the right to trade my shares while the offer is being considered.

I did. Not that I know what I’m doing just that I’m sick of being in a loss with IDS and the offer price is roughly break even for me so is a chance to get rid.

I use Halifax Share Dealing and a couple of weeks ago my shares went “Line extinct” and disappeared from my account. There was a corporate action enabling me to vote ahead of this but Halifax never said anything about my shares being untradable and disappearing from my account. I am really upset that they think that it’s acceptable to do this. Does anyone know what happens to my holding now? Thanks

Im new to this and want to sell my holding as soon as possible after qualifying for the dividend so do I need to place a sell trade minutes after the closing bell the day before ex dividend day which I assume wouldnt execute until the next market open by which time I would have qualified for the dividend? Thanks

Why wouldn’t the BOD phoenix the business at this point? Cineplex goes away, outstanding debts go away.

Thanks George. I will wait to see what tomorrow brings. I don't know if its common but Halifax never gave me the option to sell my rights and I was presented with only two options i.e. take up rights or don't.

New user here and my Halifax share dealing account says an average share price for the issue of 133.91p which is obviously not what I accepted when I was asked to make a nomination. Is this an error on their part or have I missed something here? thanks
