whats the group name
haha the market i way overpriced at the moment. The bigger the bubble though the bigger the pop - just wait until companies start filing their quarterlies.
Hi Hydrogen
i seen that post last night. you said he was testing liquidity. i assume you meant to see how quickly he can get access to the funds(sell) if he needed too. does that mean you expect him to buy a significant amount going forwards providing of course he was happy with the results?
TMT - good post.
I said yesterday i dont think they will make an offer for Hav- i may be wrong but my gut feeling if they are getting 70-75% for a small amount, so return on investment for them will be massive. If they buy the additional 30% that will be somewhat watered down,
my thoughts are they will do another similar deal on sites on Scallywag- get big returns of their investment and keep with the same winning formula that returns the best bang for their buck. yes they wont get all the profit from Hav but the risk is substantially reduced and it keeps capital free for other ventures. It a cheaper and gets bigger returns in relation to the size of their investment.
i dont think they will buy GGP at all. it makes no sense at all.
Yes they would like 100% of Havieron but they are probably delighted to have 70% in the bargain of a life time.
So say we get Inital results from the targets in scallywag and these look promising Newcrest can buy GGP for £xx billions and own all of Havieron plus scallywag etc. Alternatively they can do another joint venture, maybe only get 50% this time for 70 million for example. Their return on investment will will be far bigger than buying out GGP fully or even buying the full rights of havieron etc.
It will also make them more appealing for future JV with junior explorers.
i can see a sudden uptake in flash motors with GGP personal registrations coming soon haha
cant compare lithium to gold. Gold will always be desired, much of the lithium use is batteries which mean its only good until the next technology advance
oil and gas exploration/investment company. they bought into a site with a lot of potential at west newton. It looks positive from that as they own a good proportion of the rights but they have a bit of a concern as the have a optional finance facility setup which could end up as a death spiral if they utilize it so it does have risk attached. That aside at the share price it looks undervalued providing they keep getting positive news on the west newton site
Iceberg I think you are showing little understanding. Lundin in 2.7 billion dollar cap and a mine with 5 million ounces. A project over 14 years.
Havieron is bigger already, and still growing. Those numis reports didn’t take into account the Brescia, the step outs, new drilling to the northwest. Etc
Also GGP has low capital costs, the facilities are at telfer to process and that’s a very slick operation.
Plus Australia is a safe bet with massive government support for the mining sector.
hopefully gold- that would only be the case if new shares were issued for fundraising etc. for shares already on the market an increase in value will have no effect on the money greatland have in the bank. However, it would make it easier for us to obtain funding through loans etc
I am with mushroom in a way. I have high hopes but the world is in such turmoil I am not sure how it’s all going to play out.
For instance, all the government debts racked up since 2008 and now in a major way this year is going to lead to some major changes in the next few years and markets are going to go crazy. I am not counting my chickens just yet. But I think investing in gold is just about the safest area, but still not safe. It’s possible currencies could collapse pushing up the dollar which can be bad for gold, it could be the dollar and gold rise why all else falls. Who knows.
A good watch, recorded in January but very relevant now during this current crisis and the future effect on gold

Regarding the short selling. I maybe wrong but my understanding is if a sell order I placed, say for a pound the broker would then know your out price and have more confidence they can lend those shares to short and replace them knowing you will be holding long term. The only way was to stop it was with the certificate.
The markets are down, could be like a mini sell off, maybe people moving to metals wondering what trump will do with China later
I have gave up trying to to time the stock market or even guess what it will do. For instance I was fairly sure it would totally crash and take a long time to recover which is why I looked at investing in gold and found this. However after the initial collapse it has rallied back which I still scratch my head at. I still think it will collapse as more businesses start reporting losses, going bankrupt etc. The fed printing more money could cause the dollar value to fall and shake confidence. Then again I could be wrong.
i think he just means we get them updates on the night/evening in general rather than one will be out tomorrow haha
i am not saying that will happen - often it wont, its just something that can put off investors if it is a risk
the bigger share is WN is a positive after all
yes its only potentially death spriral, if not used all is good. it comes down to how confident you are that it wont be, but that will affect the price
someone asked what it is, effectively how it usually works is either bonds or issues share to the value drawn down etc
the risk is this can dilute the share, reducing the price, short sellers may then short the share driving the price down further which can then set off a chain reaction where investors sell, causing more short sellers etc, causing more sellers etc etc
I was tipped off from a friend to look at this, the low market cap and potential of WN look like positives, but as mentioned previously that "death spiral" funding makes me question the BoD.
