Having a look at previous RNS, this sometimes does come shortly before a placing, but may be coincidence. When it was announcement in February 1st, the price rose significantly then fell again the next day.

That alarmed me too, what does it mean? Surely it's not a precursor to a placing is it?

There are a lot of low MCAP cryptocurrencies that get ramped and rugpulled. The same people who participate in and see that sort of thing may also try it with stocks. Not that a stock of £175 million can be easily manipulated by one person on a message board, but doesn't stop people trying.

I'm not sure of the context of the quote. If he's touting for business and acting like a salesman then fine. But one shouldn't take it as gospel just because he said it.

Sounds like ramping to me.

DYOR is the key here, the proof is in the pudding. Some people have a good track record and admittedly when they say something I'll become optimistic.

I'm still holding because I think long term the odds of a significant rise are greater than us all ending up as bagholders, but there is a lot of 'certainty' professed about how wonderful things will be in the future. If this was such a guarantee then wouldn't the SP already be higher? The reason it isn't because there is still significant risk. Risk which I'm willing to take but I still raise my eyebrows when people are too optimistic. They are either ramping, or sincere but don't have a clue.

There's a difference between speculating on possible incoming good news and baseless ramping. I'd like to see more of the former and less of the latter.

No. I simply mean that Howard White has a bigger holding than anyone here and therefore be very inclined to ramp. I'm not saying that he is trying to mislead, simply that one should be careful of someone who has a vested interest that may clash with yours.

My only vested interest at the moment is in the SP going up. Admittedly I do sometimes sell a portion of my holding if I think the SP is overbought and buy more shares back in when they are cheaper

Beware of a ramper that has a large holding. They have a vested interest in keeping the price high and sending it higher

well a market cap of a billion doesn't mean they've got it in the bank, it means the share price is worth 25.4p

I'm partly with you that even the current market cap seems optimistic in some regards.
