There were close to 15 million declared shorted shares before today's update.

That's a lot of shares if bonds improve and FOMO pressurises them to close.

UK inflation at 2.5% is - 0.2% below consensus, that alone should be an up day for Vistry.

Given that was close to a million shares being shorted in a single day I would have expected shares to end worse than under - 1% down.

Creating a very pressurised coil, will be spring back or snap on the 15th.

I've added some more around 5.53.

That's the Dominic Walsh twitter post from the back end of November they're highlighting in terms of the takeover.

He's normally a credible source and there were some big buys and a spike when he reported it, but no news and no comment on it from vistry since then. Still only one month old and these things take time so could still be bubbling, who knows at the moment.

Agree anything could happen at these prices.

Don't lose sight of the many millions of £s of insider buys averaging around £7.88 in the past month or two.

Great opportunity to top up IMO

Boards go quiet in the calm, adding here on pay day before the trading update on 15th Jan. Closed period now so no director buying in the run up.

(Still think there's takeover potential in due diligence to keep the rumours alive ;))

From what I can see, only £102k out of the normal £300k daily buyback was logged yesterday

May be media speculation, but it would make sense... [dots added for speculative suspense ;) ]

- £14.1m insider, or insider linked purchases within 3 months at an average around £8.80

- No insider buys or sells since 8th November

- Close to 10% of shares are owned by insiders, or by companies linked to insiders

- GBP to USD has dropped back to support US PE takeovers (a few have been appearing in the news lately)

- "If" £10 a share, the buy back makes this £400K+ cheaper every day (assuming market price isn't lifted by BBs)

- Over -50% drop from a 3 month high

- At £300m PAT (2026 forecast, if its to be believed) the share price would be at a PE ratio around 7

Interested to see what GLG and Kintbury do in the coming week, there's a lot of shares being shorted at the moment at significant risk if there is an offer.

Don't know him but someone must think he's credible, he posts at 11:59 and at 12:00-12:01 close to 500k shares are purchased and/or sold over a number of transactions.

IMO feels too coincidental and too quick a reaction to not be something like an AI tool monitoring certain accounts for reputable rumours being circulated. Crazy new world we're in with how quickly the large firms can react to rumours and market news!

Questionable back at 1300p, but what a time to have a share buyback in place now!

IMO I was interested in the outlook.

Results this year we know are bad, hence the share price at 25% of its high.

Poor year, action taken, expect in line with guidance and plan with growth for H2 FY25. Slight beat of revenue and op profit is more a confidence booster IMO on the H2 growth.

Still holding my stock for long and waiting for budget tomorrow.
