I've plonked another £6k in at £2.07.

Time to sit back and see what happens

Trading statement for year end has already been circulated, numbers in there didn't suggest a trading towards bankruptcy lol.

Just dropped another £1k into it at 3.09 to see if it's just shorters playing with the supporting levels.

Don't forget the last year comparison was before the accounting issues, so numbers are expected to be down YoY.

Forward looking sentiment is the main thing and that's a mixed bag. New JV is positive, but delayed rate cuts and a challenging Q2 were also mentioned a couple of times.

Persimmon results also looking great.

Completions: 4,605 homes, up 4% from H1 2024 (4,445).

Sales Price: Average price at £284,047, up 8% year-on-year.

Revenue: £1.31 billion in new housing revenue, up 12%.

Profit: Underlying operating profit of £172 million, a 13% increase; profit before tax at £164.9 million, up 11%.

"§ Total housing completions increased by 14.3% to 8,749 homes (2024 - 7,654) at an overall average selling price of around £316,000 (2024 - £307,909), both slightly ahead of previous guidance."

Rumours Jerome Powell could resign soon & Bailey's publicly stated the bank could speed up UK rate cuts if employment slows.

Both those plus the Glenigan’s index spike, surely we're in for a blue day today.

Sector Analysis – Residential

Residential construction starts experienced very strong growth during the Index period, increasing 76% compared to the preceding three months and 64% against 2024 figures.

Private housing was the main growth-driver, rising a stratospheric 95% against the preceding three months, experiencing an 84% increase on the year before. Whilst social housing did increase 11% against the preceding three months, it finished 4% down on the previous year.

Glenigan’s economic director Allan Wilen said: “We’re seeing confidence returning at a much faster pace than anyone ever expected.”

Last year these shares traded around £13, rising slowly towards £14 a little after July's announcement and last year H1 was before the profit warnings.

If any of the sales and profit statements beat last year there would be an almighty jump in price.

Market expected bad, I'm curious to see their reaction to forward looking statements.

Added some more at 6.15.

That was an odd PMQ's, a visibly upset Chancellor seemed to cause a jump in bond yields and drop in yield linked stocks.

Wonder how much that is algorithms following sentiment of online posts.

Hopefully in a day or 2 the news will move on and bond yields invert back to normal.

Don't forget there's around 10 million shares in short at the moment. If they need to close quickly after the 10 year commitment to social funding this could still go a lot higher today.

Well that's a lot of stimulus, this morning could be interesting.

Last few housebuilder updates have been slightly better than expected, so I was hoping for a small upward surprise.

Either way, in line with the poor expectation and a good opportunity for shorters to exit whilst people sell what they think is bad news.

At least forward looking is much better for mid to long term with the £2B stimulus.

Less than a year ago flat you were buying this at over £8 a year.

Highly doubt we'll be seeing 2s any time soon.

From 11am today, it seems that someone or a company has been steadily acquiring numerous trades and maintaining a price floor of £4.01.

The spread has narrowed, and volume has returned.

With that, and finishing in the green while the broader markets are down, I'm keen to see what happens in the next few weeks.

Interesting to see Global Data shares jump +10% as they announce movement from AIM to main market.

The last trading update in line with expectations lifted the share up to 570ish.

At least growth has stabilised and returned although not strong growth, they did flag growth would be back weighted to H2.

Gut says your short may be a bad call Apendragon but we'll see what market does.

The 26 will be a regular sharesave scheme that takes place every month in closed periods or not.

Lack of director buys I'm finding more interesting, still feasible there's a due diligence process ongoing for acquisition, which could cause an irregular closed period.

Why buy in massive bulk around the £7/8s and do nothing as it drops to £5s?
