The excitement we have here is palpable. What a pity it is that our holding falls dramatically following Total's option exercise. Yes, we get another $12m or so but that doesn't compensate for the potential riches the company's given up.

I am sure the company could've raised £20m easily through a placing considering what we now know. Unfortunately, we do not possess the power of prescience

I'm not blaming ECO management though as they've done a superb job in steering the company to its current position

Further Exxon-Hess-(China) discoveries will only serve to elevate expectations and inject further momentum here. Of course the inverse also applies and that any dry wells bordering our acreage would or should I say may depress the share price

Animal - I don't know if they know anything at all but I choose to believe they know something the market doesn't. It's called a judgement call and we exercise that judgement by spending our cash to buy shares in companies that we believe could deliver share-price growth. There's nothing else to it. It's a binary. We either get it right (profit) or we get it wrong (loss) and so I tend to be guided by the decisions of others nearer to the centre of political and commercial activity than I am

There are insiders - company executives, politicians etc
There are outsiders - idiots like me who have their snotty noses and ears pressed up against the frosted glass trying to get a glimpse or whisper of what is occurring inside. It can be a forlorn exercise

Absorb it all (all available information and evidence) and make your judgement call

Let's just say we're not starting with a blank canvas and I doubt Gunner would've lifted the moratorium (and indeed imposed in the first place to secure Beetaloo's social licence to develop) and under considerable political and commercial pressure from the Commonwealth government if the prospects for wholesale commercial development were less than certain.

I'll place my faith in the decisions taken by those with insider knowledge of such matters ie Origin. Gunner. Canberra. Jemena etc

the excitement's only just started. Watch for more Exxon-Hess-China discoveries. Drill mid 2019 is a wait away but with such excitement surrounding Guyana now one would think expectations can only continue to increase as the months roll by

Exxon and Hess are adding value to our acreage and it's costing us the square root of nowt...they say there's no such thing as a free-lunch - well, with ECO I beg to differ

If FOG's 30% is bought out the deal can be constructed in many ways. The usual is either a cash plus shares in the acquiring company or the best would be a straight cash purchase as that allows you to sell direct into the market on the day of the offer with none of the administrative crap, waiting around for the cash to arrive which is a pain.

Close off to Santos is a real surprise. He's become almost synonymous with Beetaloo's discovery with the exception of PoQ. I wonder what's cooking behind the scenes?

Yes, I agree though of course an RNS would be most welcome!

As domestic production falls away the UK-Ireland will become dependent on imports from other countries - this simple fact elevates the risk towards security of supply - 'active storage' contributes to reducing that risk and providing a buffer at times of stress. I'm sure JW will illuminate us all when he presents his vision next week...

Let's hope we can secure an offtake from Vitol, Petronas or some other gas trader

Yes, very exciting indeed. Bloody exciting indeed. The de-risking process is slowly kicking in thanks to the efforts of Exxon-Hess. TLW-ECO-TOTAL have a lot to thank EXX-HESS for their efforts to date. Without their discoveries ECO would still be languishing but the proximity of today's discovery has spooked the price upwards and fired the market's imagination

Of course the great concern with Falcon is we're taken out on the cheap. We are a micro-company with minimal assets and almost next to zero influence. What leverage does the company have to ensure that the company's 30% is taken out at maximum dollar?

I think there's now a general consensus that what's been discovered at Beetaloo is MASSIVE. Gunner's in China laying the commercial groundwork for inward investment into the NT but we all know the real driver of value and that's the prospective nature of Beetaloo. No wonder Jemena is planning huge investment into the region

And little old Falcon sat there amongst all the GIANTS. Will they kick us in the bollux and try to buy cheaply (underpay) a world class asset?

That would be a stretch. Gas from the US must be chilled into a liquid and shipped in tankers at a great cost. Russia's supplies mostly arrive in Europe through a network of pipelines that have been in place for decades at a lower price.
