When this happens and they try to lock you out from buying in volume, I buy repeatedly in small amounts, while keeping in mind the trading cost. I tend to factor in a 1% to 2% maximum, so if a trading cost is £5, I'll buy £250 worth of stock as a minimum, given that when I'm making the purchase, I'm expecting a far higher percentage increase above the price I paid over time.

No, I'm not promoting this for others but it just puts a perspective on buying often in small amounts versus one larger order that won't go through.

For listed stocks, nobody else is 'producing' other than NCYT but happy to be corrected by others on that.

No sure they'll 'suffer', demand is far greater than capacity to supply for numerous providers.

The 'plans', and all 'plans' are just that until they actually happen are for first wave of supply September or October, that's four to five months away, earmarked for the Uk and US.

They don't know at this stage whether it will be successful and they equally don't know whether it will react in a way that offers immunity for any mutation.

The countries that GDR are targeting with far larger populations would not receive any vaccine, based on the current 'plans' until 2021, so that's six to eighteen months away.

The 'planned' two billion doses, running into 2021, would only cater for a quarter of the global population, as there's eight billion of us globally.

I don't see it having any effect on the continued need for tests.

@sneaky, there is no doubt affimers are neat, highly specific molecules that can target the bits you need to detect. The issue is at the other end, how can you detect the binding with a high enough sensitivity. PCR does it by copying, but lateral flow type tests require ‘developing’ the signal. PCR makes billions of copies, lateral flow is often a 1:1 detection so billions of times less sensitive. That’s where the problem with affimer and antibody based tests are - signal amplification. Been like that for 20 years plus

Two weeks ago, they were around 100,000.
Ten weeks ago, they were around 75,000.

Was this you, below, dangerously misleading new investors when you can't be certain which way the share price will go ? Not really, just you expressing your view in your investment.

Others will do the same at differing frequencies.

Well done you've really hit the jackpot there, and to be honest my personal belief is this still has plenty of legs left in yet. I can see this hitting a £1bn market cap provided the Affirmers get the required regulatory sign off and commercialised, which I'm confident they will.

It was a tough call, took a lot of prolonged thought, but in the end, after much toing and froing, the answer had to be 'yes, I think his approach is wrong'.

You whole approach is wrong.

If you think that regularly highlighting the negative attracts other investors, you're a sandwich short of a picnic.

You invested to make a profit. You expect the value to be higher in the future, which means you believe a higher valuation is justified and the only way that is going to be achieved is to have more buyers than sellers, or more investors attracted to the stock.

Back to the beginning, your whole approach is wrong to realise an increase in asset value, which is the reason you invested, assuming you are invested.

Clueless.

If you think the future performance of an investment will be lacklustre, or won't significantly increase in value, sell it and save the crap pr.

It's natural to be optimistic about an investment/asset, otherwise why take the risk.

Another example:

"I am not convinced FDA approval will have a massive impact"

Well many others here believe it will have a significant impact if for no other reason than the majority of other stocks announcing FDA approval, related or not, do have a positive rerating.
