Maybe Erik Henau is returning with a buy out. Like you jamrock I am a long term holder (hit the million mark before restructuring) and have lost all excitement or enthusiasm for the B. of D. I suppose a buy out may not happen but the cash reserves alone would virtually pay for the buy out!
Wish Mystic Meg was around for some guidance.
I must have memory loss but when was the price around £1.00? I have been in here for many years (sentenced by a judge to lifelong community service lol). My last excitement was concerning the "Iran deal" when we shot up to 25p plus. I am tempted to say "This time next year Rodney we will be........."! anywhere near 25-30p and I will be wealthy and able to buy a cup of tea in a café!! Best of investment luck to all LTH's
The Westminster saga reminds me of a memory from years ago
Promise without delivery
"Rob, all this for miles and miles is yours as far as the eyes can see.
What as far as those distant hills?
well no but near the garden fence, just there!
Hoping all holders, especially long term lifers like myself have a good new year in 2024
.
FANTASTIC NEWS - if you read between the operation transcripts. Positive is we now have a further 6 months to wait until we receive the news we are in profit and receiving a dividend Yes! yes! yes!
sorry everyone have imbibed too much mulled wine, .hic!
Bit early for dividend hunters to load up so why the increased flow of buying? Mind you it is deserving of a higher rating so all good to me!
Hi Jamrock,
I understand your argument and the need to believe there is a positive future. Like yourself I have been involved as a shareholder since Concepta days and Uncle Eric and was a million digit holder before consolidation accumulated over a medium term. I am resigned to stay and hopefully see a return or reduced loss! A positive, healthy and rewarding Christmas to all.

not found name of analyst but this brief detail was in FT.

The one analyst offering a 12 month price target expects Smiths News PLC share price to rise to 60.00 in the next year from the last price of 43.80.
I understand Eric Hanna is being brought in as MD and a trial of a new pregnancy testing product is to be introduced with a pilot scheme launched in China. This might be a "game changer for "Concepta".......!!!!!! Oops sorry I posted this about 8 years ago! Just getting carried away with the notion that boards issue updates. In the words of the Monkeys I am still a believer!!
Jamrock, I rarely comment but today is a little reflection from me scanning back over the past few years when I started my journey here with "Uncle Eric" in China under the Concepta banner. Well as Delboy said to Rodney this time next year....... I remember the yellow brick road so clearly. I have bought more over the years so have reduced my break even figure but am staying in. A transformational company under current management so the future appears bright. maybe next year will be our year! I would enjoy the payout!
added a few more to my ore holding a few weeks back. I sense the company is under a good management strategy. and there appears to be a resurgence in magazine and news sales around the country. Healthy dividend to come so I am now in for the medium to long term.
The company has been transformed since the "reverse take-over" of a shell type company many years ago. The original name plate of Concepta launched in a blaze of publicity, particularly in China with the pregnancy testing products. Covid products have provided a financial platform to launch the new portfolio so fingers crossed (although luck should be just a minor factor) we have a successful future. Like quite a few on here I am and remain a long term investor. MY portfolio would have an alarming rise should the share rise significantly!
I have read several comments of late which highlight the MM's spread on the share. I wonder if todays so called spread is a record percentage between bid and sell.
It is a totally obscene scenario and is I suppose a deterrent to new buyers and sellers.
Share Price: 1.75 Bid: 1.50 Ask: 2.00.
This continuing situation does, I feel, detract from the excellent prospects for MHC.
hI Ambers,
I remember Eric and the trials launched in China. I think Concepta was an interesting ploy in China - never did hear how many conceptions were logged maybe it was a con!!
This new company and management is a potential blue ribbon opportunity and holds great potential.
a big wave to all holders especially LTH's
another aspect of supply and demand rests with production capacity and capability. The sp will likely see a positive move when full confidence is maintained in the structural awareness and decisiveness of the management team. Additionally, as often mentioned here, the professional decision making and timing of new product launch. Personally I hold a positive view of Penny and her team therefore retain confidence in the company and await my investment to grow. (I am a holder of shares going back to initial launch and Mr. Henau and co.
Just listened to an interview with I believe a CEO or senior scientist from a Liverpool based testing company. In the interview she said the government list of "testing providers" is produced alphabetically and there are a few "covid exploiter" companies listed. OK we all knew such companies exist but the remark made which startled me (if true) was if a company with a name which has a numeric or a punctuation mark will be automatically listed first as the main list is alphabetically structured . surely if true this list available to the public should be by performance grade. !?:,>!&"
MHC would then be near the top
