fair point, you are right in thinking they would not wish to 'upset' us at this stage and take the proverbial ****.
Highly likely they have eyes on other assets of ours.
All good though, we get a 'accurate' view on valuation and SP undoubtedly rises, happy with that.
Redirons - couldn't the point be that in this way NC get a clear and independent view on asset value which they can then reasonably put to shareholders.....?
At the moment they wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting approval for the sort of money they may require as no 'true' valuation has really been ascertained.
I am sure that Newcrest will try and bid for Greatland at some point next year, this is part of it, they will get a better steer on the price it will cost them.
During the recent AGM, I was surprised at how much time was given to the possible takeover scenario, no one tried to close it down as mere speculation as one would usually expect, rather it was discussed at some length and revisited several times.
Not a bad thing IMO, just want to be sure we get fair value, and this will most likely go to an independent valuation as the 2 figures will almost certainly be more than 10% apart - then they will know what they need to pay and can get shareholder approval.
Just my view, and by the way, I do believe it will be some way north of current price, so all good.
Peter47, I am not so sure, to be fair this is a view which was well used in recent years on here and understandably so, but as we get to realise how big this could be, I don't think the odd mining season really comes into play when you are considering an area to 'rival Bushveld' and mines that could operate for decades, far more important to get the very complex deal delivered correctly, this could be a huge geo political, world leading, world changing operation.
Appreciate that sounds a bit rampy - apologies.
Totally agree with Mac, as many have said it is just a matter of time, naysayers recently pointed out that in the last couple of RNSs there was no mention of the sale / asset sale - well here it is again, very clear and a message to all shareholders in my view.
The BOD are actually fairly astute in providing snippets of info if people care to look, they realise the frustration, the doubt and delay and they do what they can when they can to help.
We have consistently been delivered curved balls, it has been mentioned time and again, but once this all comes out I believe that actually it will all transpire as some wonderfully managed strategic process and all the bits will fit together beautifully well.
One thing that all of us could and should now put to bed, if not already done so, is the utter tosh posted by a few people that this is all some form of 'scam' - IMO, that should be completely ignored.
Every chance we could here more news this week, but I am happy to wait, always have been, always will.
In until the end, long and strong!
Neo
I wouldn't underestimate reputations here - CS and DS are proven and very experienced leaders in the mining sector, JN joined from a much larger business AFTER doing DD, Tamerlan is building his profile and then Firstov comes in from Rosgeo, you think they put together a team like than for ****s and giggles........!
We know some of what we have, not all yet, that is why we wait, but every indication is that the resource base will be moved up significantly, the share price will follow.
Oh yea, and then UBS, WA, DLA Piper, all joined in to ruin their reputations built up over generations.........come on Neo, surely even you can see the opportunity here?
Jonnybgood - absolutely agree, worth a regular re watch, such a professional and it is so evident that the plan we see unfolding has been there for years, yes of course the wait is frustrating, but this is a big deal, involving massive players, metals which will be in world wide demand for generations, undoubtedly some political input, but this could be seismic, and I think DS knew when doing this interview, he is cold and calculating but evidently very knowledgeable and competent.
In until the end.
Neo
I am unsure if you have ever watched this interview, certainly worth it if not, should you not have much time, go straight to minute 27, at that exact point DS addresses your point re 'no guarantee' - I was happy with it.

Whilst happy to agree with much more f what you said I also think it important to point out that there is not actually that much difference between JORC standards and Russian standards, so n fact I have read that Russian standards are higher and more conservative……..
Make of that what you will.
I don't filter often and I actively tried not too for a long while until it just became too much. I had always felt it important to try and get a rounded view and I remain more than happy to see sensible posts who have contrary opinion to my own. However I do now sadly have quite a few in my green bin (61).
However before I filter anyone I 'research' them, check their history, review their posts, see what they said about particular shares and check whether it came to fruition etc etc - I don't do it on a whim unless they are simply rude and obnoxious which has happened a few times.
So, the point being, when I see a green bin, I know there is good reason why I don't want to see what they say, for me they are either 'proven' troublemakers (here and elsewhere), poorly researched, or been hugely wrong on other shares - makes it really easy.
BBaggins is one of my 61, went in a while ago.
So it is now just over 4 weeks since we were officially informed that 'the buyer' had 'successfully completed due diligence'.
Bear in mind that BEFORE due diligence would have been undertaken, a proposal would have been made with a guide as to possible price any potential buyer was willing to pay. This price must have been in the ball park region for the BOD to allow DD to take place and detailed information to be shared. Indeed, the BOD came out of FSP to focus on this one offer, further 'evidence' that the price was broadly acceptable IMO.
So, can we agree that the BOD must have been broadly happy with the price being offered (remaining open for final negotiation of course based on DD/JORC/Licenses)?
Can we also agree that if the 'buyer' has 'successfully completed DD' more than 4 weeks ago, and we have heard nothing more since then, that the DD was acceptable to the 'buyer' and they wish to proceed (we would surely have known by now if this were not the case).
Something is holding it up, we know not what, but there are so many things that this could be - masses of details to finalise, political approval (not a concern for me based on other things we know at this point IMO), final price negotiation, licences to be signed off, JORC to be published........so many variables needing to line up that it is IMO quite understandable that this is 'protracted'. We also know that the BOD is progressing several transactions/negotiations at the same time, undoubtedly they are interwoven and most likely need to be announced simultaneously.
We could be waiting for several or just one piece of the jigsaw to be finally put in place, we simply don't know, but there is nothing communicated thus far which currently gives me a cause for any concern.
Nothing new in any of the above but just trying to line it all up and set it out as simply as possible.
All IMO of course, GLA.
Please read what it states in an RNS only shared a few hours ago.........
Eurasia Mining Plc ("Eurasia" or the "Company"), the palladium, platinum, rhodium, iridium and gold producing company notes recent media speculation about a listing of the ordinary share capital of Eurasia on the Moscow Exchange, WHILE RETAINING ITS LISTING ON AIM ("DUAL LISTING') - capitals are mine by the way!
Why then would you start a conversation in direct contradiction to the very message and announcement made only this morning??
Totally NOT pointless, I see it very much as an opportunity by the BOD to explain what happened re the MOEX investor conference. There was much being read into it both positive and negative about how they ‘pulled out’. So many conspiracy theories from nut jobs on here and Twitter, they see this stuff, they know what is being said and they have rightfully decided to set the record straight.
I always felt it was going to be very difficult to speak at a conference with everything going on if they hadn’t RNS’d beforehand and so was not surprised they did not participate. What on earth could they have spoken about?
Personally I am very happy with the RNS today.
News will come. Just need to wait patiently.
Newbie - not sure it is that unusual, plenty did suggest that it would prove hard to do the conference at this particular moment if no further news had come out, and it hasn't.
I think that when the invite for the conference was first received the BOD perhaps felt it would be good timing and that everything would likely be out by then, even in the last couple of weeks they may have felt the same after all news is due shortly.........perhaps even towards the back end of last week it was hoped news would be able to be shared but that has just not transpired - all sorts of silly little things could account for delays at this point, try selling a house!
Anyway, we sit, we wait.

In Sept 2020 we had notification of some Board changes, part of which stated......
"The Directors have agreed to release Dmitry Suschov from the Board in order to allow him to focus as the Company's Chief M&A Officer on the M&A work streams with Eurasia's professional advisers."
The Conference in Russia on Monday states that one of the speakers for EUA is "Dmitry Sushchev, shareholder and member of the board of directors"
Is this a change or just a 'mistake' by the conference organisers?
So EUA Directors, you are here because you are looking for some investment? Tell me why I should invest and what you have there at Eurasia Mining?
"Sorry we can't tell you we are in the middle of a possible sale situation and that information has not been released yet'
OK, I hear you have a lot of PGMs, what quantities are we talking?
'Sorry can't tell you, we are waiting for a JORC assessment, it is due shortly'
OK, what licences do you have?
'Well, can't really say to be honest, we are currently sorting all that out'
OK, so why did you set up a Japanese Office?
'Sorry can't really say at the moment, all part of the possible sale you see'
OK, what about Firstov, why was he recruited?
'Sorry, not really able to say without giving too much away'
Can you share anything on the JV with Rosgeo?
'Nah, not really at the moment, sorry'
Great, well thanks for coming.
