Should be a good start. Up just under 2% on the SA exchange atm this morning, which according to my calcs should give an approx. 2.5% rise at LSE open, due to the different closing times yesterday.
Yesterday's RBCT rise looks good

Rotterdam's even better

Subject to confirmation it looks like Home REIT and Petrofac took the drop out of the FTSE250 and 888 may remain by the skin of its teeth. I have mcaps as 888 £448.5m, HOME £400m and PTC as £437.25m. Is anyone with access to the full FTSE Russell UK Index Series Quarterly Review able to confirm?

That is true and my shipping figures show that there has been no stoppage in exports/loadings. Unfortunately though, with production and port capacity both well in excess of current rail capacity, all further reductions in railings will ultimately lead to future increased production curtailments, reducing the amount that will be sold and therefore revenue and profits will be lower than they could have been, fortunately the derailment happened when prices were around their recent lows
As said though, with less derivative losses likely, the coal prices performing strongly today and the hope that railings will increase, with extra loco availability promised following the resolution of the spares issue, the future should be bright.
Today's RBCT coal price available nice and early, continuing its upward trend. Now approx. 40% up on the lows from earlier this month, with $200+ out to 2027

My current divi prediction for H2 is £3.76 with higher average coal prices and reduced derivative losses making up for reduced exports due to the strike and derailment.
Not much wind or solar in the UK at the moment so the coal fired power we have left has been running constantly for over 48 hours, Europe will be the same, and where coal power exists still, it's a lot cheap to fuel than NG with current prices.

I someone else can confirm, I think, at 2033333, that's the joint 3rd highest daily "energy" figure so far

The drop is finely balanced at the moment, hopefully today's RNS and associated CMD can lift the price enough to stay in and get passed HFG and PFC. If it drops out, it would have to climb 43+% to get back in again on recent figures.

andyyy, afaik, you would only be liable for capital gains tax when you sell the shares and make a profit that is in excess of your capital gains tax free allowance. This can be off set against capital losses, if you have any, and crystallise them in the same tax year. As others have said, getting the shares into and ISA would protect from future tax liabilities and if you are think of keeping long term, you can feed £20k across each tax year, if you can sell and rebuy that amount without being liable for CGT. If you have a trusted spouse you may be able to transfer money into their name too. If your tax liabilities are large and you have read the previously recommended articles and others and are still struggling, it may be best to seek professional help, as if it goes wrong, you could end up with a big unecesary tax bill and/or lots of form filling.
Some RBCT volume on here:
https://www.barchart.com/futures/quotes/LVZ22/overview
Thungela reported as part of the results when they disclosed losses from having hedged at earlier lower prices last year, that there was not much futures volume traded in RBCT coal, which limited their ability to secure meaningful volumes of revenue at higher prices for the years to come when prices were sky high. However, there is always a lot more volume in Rotterdam coal, and to me it seems to move in close step to RBCT, so they could use that?, except they don't, for reasons beyond my knowledge.

Up the equivalent of over 1.5% using the movement from the already open SA exchange atm.
Yesterday's coal price continuing the upward trend and now approx. 25% above recent lows, if the share price did the same we would be over 1400.
Just a shame the port has been quiet, need those locos repaired and running now the tracks are back open.
