I know more about Royal Mail than most directors and the CWU because I do intensive research before I invest. It is part of the four pillars agreement, which I'm not going to go through now but there's a clue in the title " agreement" you give, they give. If you don't keep your side of the agreement they don't keep theirs. Regarding the pension. Last year Royal mail paid 430m in but this year they will pay in 70m. It is you that will lose out. You was mugged.
If you don't implement the agreed productivity strategy then Rico can cancel your 1 hour reduction. Also the CWU has exchanged your future for near term prosperity by selling you out on your pension. Although they didn't really have much choice. Which is lucky for shareholders like myself because without the massive reduction in pension payments they would have lost another 200m quid in the last 6 months.
Read the results, no guess work it's all there. As for the uso, it's a blessing in disguise.
You all forget one important point, or maybe you never new it in the first place.
Not true. Labour have said they will buy the shares back. But Ty hey won't get in anyway. The only reason they did well in the last election was because they said that they would go through with Brexit. Now that they have said they will give a second referendum they won't get the working class UKIP vote. Many won't vote, others will return to UKIP, parliament will be hung.
Rico has bought 312,000 shares in the last month. Close to a million quids worth.
Apart from cutting sick pay why would postie's object to any of the rest of it? But if they did go on strike the CWU would be smashed to pieces. Postie's wouldn't last long without any pay.
Why is it not looking good? If the deals don't go through it doesn't cost them anything. Some believe that they are paying too much and no deal would be better.
More parcels more profit. Less letters more profit. Rico has big plans. Use freelance drivers. Cut sick pay. Give managers a kick up the arse. Get rid of 6 day deliveries and get rid of 2nd class are all things he might try that would improve profits.
Up 1.4% on the day and more to come next week imho.
Why would they pay redundancy to employees who have left before Pembridge bought the mine?
Hi postman, have many taken up the new share scene?
I note that in results £100m was paid as back pay. The deal was settled in February so it was a bit naughty by Moya not to pay back pay until the next financial year. Another £100 that won't be out of next results.
The scheme will run for at least 12 months and they have to give 3 months notice to cancel it. Look again in the share booklet. It says that the shares will be BOUGHT on 15th of each month.
It seems a better deal than the last deal to me. For example, if you were investing £40 a month you would have got 14 shares in November thus only paying £2.85 a share. The fact that you can't sell for 5 years means that they are an investment. When you retire you can sell or your shares tax free or if you are still working in 5 years you can sell them each month for extra income.
True but the national average wage is misleading. when you take out the top 10% then the national average wage is about £13,000. Postie get a lot more than that and a lot more than the living wage also. Firstly they have just got a nice pay rise including back pay. Secondly they have done very well out of the free shares and the last share scheme so it should be popular amongst the work force and thirdly they get the shares at a discount to market price and get free shares included so it's a very good deal for them. I think 57,000 out of 140,000 seems about right but let's see if any posties on here have a better idea.
Yes VOD have gone ex-divi but latest results say that the board intend to maintain 2018 divi which gives a yield of over 8%. So, as the sp is rising, now might be a good time to invest?
my postie comes the same time every day so I know roughly when I will get my package unless its a large one.
oh well, maybe later
