With a proper flexible vaccine strategy and treatments like Sng001, the COVID becomes another flu and we can unlock, but I guess government don’t want to publicise this option until they are sure we have sufficient supplies.
I told friends back in August that it would be all over by Christmas because of sng001, and if it had been implemented in Autumn I believe I would have been correct, mutation or not.
But we are where we are.,
Well that’s me trying to justify UKGOV ....
Night all
I heard from a contact at the BOA that she had agreed to represent GB in the heptathlon, netball and hockey. Not bad for someone who did no sports prior to inhaling a certain nebulised medicine. Does it also give you wings....
A Chief Scientist who doesn’t know or maybe doesn’t communicate the science very well.
The virus doesn’t mutate any more or less due to the vaccine. It mutates due to errors in transcription or damage to the RNA, and if the random changes improve its abilities to survive or prevent vaccines producing antibodies to it the the mutated virus will prosper.
There is no intelligence in viruses.
But you are right about needing best treatments like SNG, the effect of which will not be reduced when the virus mutates as it surely will, the only question being will the mutations increase or reduce the potency of Covid..
Sorry Bella but viruses are actually dumb. Mutation of the Virus is random, however if the mutation improves the viruses ability to infect hosts or live longer then it will thrive and multiply more rapidly than other strains. If the mutation reduces the Viruses abilities then it will be less successful at infecting and will become benign. Natural selection is scary...
Someone asked what SNG have been doing during the July-Sept period.
Me thinks that they were in takeover talks with AZ and RM was not coming to the party on the cheap.
Then after a couple of months AZ realised the mess they were making of the vaccine trials and thought it best to let SNG do the P3 trial and bugger the extra billions.
We have had Flu vaccine(s) for a very long time, but I suggest more is spent on therapeutics (e.g Lemsip)for those who catch the Flu than on vaccines.
So as Covid19 is a more sever condition we will not spend anything on therapeutics.....
So if I get vaccinated and still catch the corona virus, or if I decline the vaccine and a catch covid19 society will let me get on with dropping dead?
I think therapeutics will probably make more money than vaccines for Covid, just like the Flu.
Viruses are constantly mutating....
I had my flu jab last week, and I would have a Covid vaccine, although I'd not sleep well for a few nights
