I have to agree. They have little to no chance of getting planning permission (even if they chose the costly option of appeal) for any sites in Devon with its declared climate emergency. Why? Well since the Plutus application, two other gas peakers have been turned down in Devon and they were both in more industrial rather than greenfield sites and one was even for for a paltry 8MW rather than the 40MW that Plutus proposed. Councils have simply got wise to the fact that 'peak' demand is actually 12+ hours per day and the CO2 emissions are therefore just too high given the government targets and aspirations and the increasing competition from renewables. IMO, a completely new direction is required. Otherwise stranded assets here we come......
