My cousin (in law) who lives in America works on big Hollywood films.
I asked the mrs to ask her what she thought of all this and all she said is that studios are desperate to release their content. She left it at that.
So jm4, you seem to be spot on.
Well that was hardly as bad as expected.
I put a sell order on at 8am just to see what it would allow me to sell at. Slapped in 10 shares. It sold them for 59.6p. I really hope nobody sold all their holdings. Absolute madness.
Suspicious timing tbh.
As others have said, it's almost as if studios are trying to cut cinemas out.
The only way I can see it working is if they take less of the cinema cut. Say maybe 10-20% instead of 50-60%.
Cinemas still make their cash, and so do the studios be it from different sources.
Goodnight mate.
And true, I think mooky will refuse to show their films.
That was before Warner brothers had our pants down.
Sorry guys. Just a big angry at them, thats all. Onwards and upwards.
They will. But that's not going to help cineworld either.
My worry now is, if one studio does it, will more follow?
From elation to desperation within 1 hour.
Gutted.
Depending on opening i might sell and buy back in around 55p, as that's where I think we are now heading.
Wonder if WB shorted every cinema share. Absolutely livid.
Agreed MZ. We are heading back to 63p IMO.
Am absolutely fuming. Why would WB do this!!!!!
Wow what absulte terrible timing for us!!!!!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that cineworld been a UK listed cinema doesnt get hit as hard. No doubt we will. Amc down nearly 13% already. FFS.
Now we know what IDW looks like
Yup! Seems crazy to me.
Alsp, apparently 66% of the population needs vaccinating before we can go back to normal. I was expecting something like 90%. Science is an absolute marvel. They predict that number will be reached by Easter 2021 at the best. Worst case will likely be next winter.
Once hospital admissions decline, the tier system will vanish, which will allow cinemas to reopen. I just can't see any negatives at this point.
Seems they stopped us from rising yesterday but couldn't hold us back today. Lost out on a nice rise didnt they?
Brocher, I spent £5,000 at 88p, the idea was to make a quick £200 for my new fish tank. I got trapped in and ended up putting in 15k to average down, but with my stupid day trades, my average ended up been about 70p. My point is dont worry, remember there will be people who average at £1! (Thats if they stayed in). And precovid buyers could well be averaging over £1.80, like my friend is.
I am legit so happy for everybody who has held, and I feel a bit of sorrow to those who sold out early.
Now its time to buy a bottle or two of wine to celebrate. More to come tomorrow? I really hope so.
Thanks to all the kind posers over the last 6 months, too many to name but I'm sure you know who you are!
Thanks for the input everyone, think ill hold and ride the waves. After sitting at a 65% loss for ages, this is a lovely dilemma to be in ha.
Whats peoples opinions on how sustainable this is?
Wondering if to sell now and wait for a drop? Dont think I can stomach that after what happened last time, but is any1 else considering it?
What a terrible day. I know I'm only small fry but money is relative. I topped up at 17.4p, only £300, but what a good decision that was. Just wish I spend my whole 15k on them at that price haha.
Sadly sold 4k worth of shares at 50pish doh.
Congrats to all the others, let's hope we steam role to 80p then £1 within the next few weeks.
They sold out between 54-58p so not the best decision, but I guess nobody can predict the bottom and top perfectly.
I want to breAk freehee
We usually boom from UK news/ market. The USA will likely, even though wrongly, boost us very little.
What a beautiful day.
Finally in the green!!!!!! Never thought this day would come.
Congratz to all holders.
Remember, if you're not in, its not too late, this could easily jump to £1 over the next week or so.
