Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
A lot of that figure will be down to the month or so without fuel. Who is responsible for that? I would probably have offered to cover that, but take off the percentage they were below agreed mining volumes. Also, we don't have clarity on why mining volumes were missed. Dan was very cagey about this until he couldn't hide it any longer. He said training and fleet availability. Was there trouble with imports? Were HUM meant to do some of the training? We don't know, but Corica are a respected outfit. Hum are not in my opinion. Dan has a history of being economical with the truth at best and missing guidance by a country mile. How long did it take them to rectify the issues at Yanfolila? Anthony came in and they put in some nonsense slide about a multistaged approach to cost saving. Turns out the clapped out old diggers weren't working. Who knows that the truth of the matter is, but I bet HUM share more responsibility than they are letting on.
It just makes me think why didn't they pay Corica?! They should have just about had the funds to do it and according to them, would now be mining the high grade. They would have paid that figure back in 2 months and they are already a month in. What's the plan? We have no idea, so presumably they don't either. I moved my money from here into Thor and somehow this is doing better. I get the hope here as I held it too for a long time. But the fact is they completely mess up and don't deliver anything that is promised. I hope for your sakes I am wrong, but I think this dog is going under.
I would buy more here, but the share is so illiquid I can't really justify it. Why does no-one want it? The PE should be less than onr at this point and the CEO holds plenty of shares. Nigeria is stable compared to the rest of West Africa. What gives?
Finally the nan sees the light. To the moon! Boom time
It's not 2pm yet. Hold your horses.
Does seem like the institution buying, or their broker, does wake up until 2pm.
Proven track record of developing novel molecules with one already approved and bought. Trading at about the value of their cash on hand. Despite several molecules in development and billions in potential contracts. Most recent broker target was over £300 million. The potential is clear and we have someone buying up millions of shares in a go down here. Looks promising to me.
They will know what the plan is after delisting and have judged that 6.75p presents good value.
Clearly an institution thinks it's a good buy at that price. They
Yeah, I thought sooner. Surprised it's taking this long.
Agreed, it's about to pop.
So there must be some big sells coming from somewhere, otherwise this would be up way more.
Hum have fallen out with numerous contract miners though and Corica have never had an issue with anyone.
Well, I remain surprised at the rise here in the absence of news. It's back to the price I sold at and I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish I'd bought at 4.5p and flipped them today. I'd love (probably a little strong for my feelings here) to be able to buy back in. In the absence of news I believe this is as likely to end up at 0 as doubling. There is clearly a case for significant cash flow and value creation, but in the 9 years or so I've been here, I am yet to see any value creation. Just a long history of messing up everything possible. There can be no doubt that Dan is inept and another disaster is never far away. I hope you guys make money here because I'd take no pleasure from seeing you endure a repeat of my experience. Make no mistake though, this is far from a dead cert. It's a complete gamble.
And they haven't managed to put a contingency in place over that year. What are the chances they can do it in weeks with cash running out?
I think either they can't afford to pay it in full and that is what is being demanded, or he is engineering a low ball take over. Having a tantrum and refusing to pay, resulting in bankruptcy, just makes no sense even for Danny boy
You will still be able to trade. The spread is already large, so I don't expect much difference. Gl
Perhaps, we will see. The valuation here seems absurd to me. By my estimations they have more cash on hand than the MCAP. They have several deals in place with billions in potential earnings. The risk is somewhat mitigated by the number of molecules in clinic. The free float is extremely low, in what is already a low MCAP stock. Who is going to be selling at this price? So, in summary I don't see any sellers (assuming institutions are done) and a small amount of buying, based on great value, will put a rocket under this.
Hopefully, the Q1 numbers will get us some liquidity. I am thinking about adding in this year's ISA.
I am amazed the share price is this high. I wonder if some news has leaked and Dan's mates are getting in, or if it's total speculation. I am still refusing to buy and waiting for the next poop show update.
