I still think Protos will be the first FOAK, but they really have to get the finger out.
In two weeks we should know the outcome of Peel's exclusivity agreement, the outcome of the repayment of PHE's loan to the SPV, and the outcome of the JV agreement between PHE and Peel for the Protos SPV. But I don't expect to get confirmation of Financial Close for some time yet.
I wonder why there was a delay of several days in sending out this RNS?
Retrofit might possible for existing diesel-electric vessels but I suspect it just wouldn't be feasible for existing vessels powered with Diesel engines. Also it is unlikely that a retrofit would be viable for older vessels with limited life remaining.
I hope that's not the case, but you might be right. I saw on the Vard web site a while back that they said they were ready to go and were looking for s shipping company to give them an order for one of these vessels, so perhaps they haven't been able to get any orders yet.
But the point is, I think, is the contractor being charged by the hour or by the day.
Also I'm not clear, when they say lease, who is leasing it to the contractor, is it AFC or is it a leasing/hire company?
TBH I wouldn't expect AFC to get involved in leasing or hiring, I would expect AFC to sell the plant to a leasing company and for the leasing company to lease it to the contractor. But I could be wrong.
