With energy shortages being widespread, coal assets should fetch better prices than for some years so a good time to offload. The Chinese may be interested in the African coal deposits Kibo has surplus to requirement.
4/11/2021. Kibo BB poster.
Re: The coal assets, have received an email saying the company intends to dispose of its coal assets in accordance with a disposal strategy THAT WILL REALIZE VALUE FOR SHAREHOLDERS.

First EVER Proactive interview by HOC. This is in the US by Charlie Gordon, Head of Investor Relations. In response to the poor sp they are finally taking some initiative at least on the US front with their recent US otc listing and now a Proactive interview.
Rare Earth (Aclara) development is covered in the second question. Also Snip option expiry coming up next month and HOC seeking more exposure to retail investors in the US and Canada.
hTTps://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/960667/hochschild-mining-reveals--profitable--pea-on-its-heavy-rare-earths-project-named-aclara-in-chile-960667.html
imo HOC will take up this option on Snip in October and use Aclara and Snip as new projects to launch a full listing on one of the main US markets later this year or next year. There is huge interest in RE's in the US and Snip is a high grade deposit that can be developed into a mine reasonably quickly. This will provide exposure of HOC and it's projects to North American retail investors ahead of Aclara being spun off with its own listing on Nasdaq in the medium term.
From EQT's latest trading statement last month:
Billingham. "In July it is expected that this will be reviewed with potential funders, including French waste-to-energy owner-operator, Groupe Idex ("Idex"). Additionally, the project team is selecting delivery partners, including Tier 1 EPC companies. The Company will make further announcements about both funding and delivery partners."
Antin Infrastructure Partners owned Idex.
It's possible that this review in July with Idex has resulted in a further rejig of the Billingham design that the company alluded to in the Q&A at the recent AGM.
Anyone know how to access the meeting by PC?
Recognising the importance of the AGM as an opportunity to engage with its shareholders, the Company will be enabling all shareholders to attend and participate in the meeting electronically, should they wish to do so. Information on how shareholders can access the meeting is contained in the Notice of AGM.
Sentiment has fallen off a cliff at PHE after the AGM announcement yesterday of their flagship project being put back another year into 2023. Some are seeing sense and coming over to EQT now with more to follow next week probably after deciding what to do at the w/e.
North Fork construction. Post 1125.

North Fork Meeting Minutes May 24:
Biomass plant – construction:
Wade Wheeler reported that construction is moving along and that there is now an “independent” project manager, who will see to it that the project gets finished and that the over-costs are handled equitably. We still need about $4.5 million to finish. That may increase as time moves on. PG&E is on-board to do their work in about 3 months.
(PG&E is the Electricity company, so this is the grid connection)
The shortfall of $4.5 million at this late stage is a concern. No mention of agreement for EQT to take a larger stake in the project.
The previous meeting 26th April: "NFCP is still looking for money to finance this project ($3-$4 million)."
So in the past month $1 million has been added to the unfunded cost with the comment this may escalate further.
Not at all good.
I am against pouring any further EQT funds down what may be a bottomless pit!
Arden draws a comparison of Eqtec to Vestas:
Vestas is the energy industry's global partner on sustainable energy solutions. We design, manufacture, install, and service wind turbines across the globe, and with +136 GW of wind turbines in 84 countries, we have installed more wind power than anyone else. Through our industry-leading smart data capabilities and +117 GW of wind turbines under service, we use data to interpret, forecast ...
"Clean tech peers such as Vestas attract a high multiple as their margins grow, EQTEC have it well within its reach to secure a similar valuation given the considerable structural drivers which act as a tailwind and the shrewd business model which is in action."
Vestas is a Danish company. Mkt Cap $38 billion.
Reg. Tt seems the Kalovo plant had to be down sized before it could start operation in 2015 due to new National Government legislation that came into force after the build had commenced. I assume it operated at 1.5 MW until it was forced to close.
More info on the Eqtec plants at Castiglione d'Orcia, Italy and Karlovo, Bulgaria. translated from Spanish.
The Castiglione d'Orcia plant was refurbished during 2014 and recommissioned in March 2015.
The Karlovo plant was down sized to 1.5 KW as a result of Bulgarian new legislation and was to commence operations in Q2/2015.

In accordance with the provisions of Circular 9/2010 of the Alternative Stock Market, The following information is hereby made available to the Market relating to EBIOSS Energy, AD .:
SYNGAS ITALY START OF OPERATIONS, UPDATE
INFORMATION ABOUT KARLOVO BIOMASS AND BUSINESS PLAN
Syngas Italy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EBIOSS Energy, has completed the commissioning phase of its electricity production plant located in Castiglione d’Orcia (Tuscany) and has started the commercial operation and sale of energy during this month of March.
Following the acquisition of Syngas Italy in April 2014, work began on refurbishment of the plant located in Castiglione d’Orcia in Italian Tuscany and at the end of 2014, once the reconditioning phase was finished, they started commissioning processes of the 1,000 kg / h gasification plant are underway composed of a gasifier with EQTEC Gasifier Technology and a power installed power of 1 MWe.
The main equipment that makes up the electricity generation plant are the General Electric Jenbacher motor generator, (1 unit JMS612), the gasifier, the control system and its electrical panels, the electrical connection line with the substation, medium voltage equipment and auxiliary equipment of the gas cleaning.
The gasification plant will use pellets from waste as fuel agricultural crops in the area (cereal straw) and its design has been made using the software EQTEC KINETIC MODEL (EKM), to determine the constructive specifications of the set of equipment that make up the gasification plant and thus obtain the best possible efficiency possible.
In relation to the Karlovo Biomass plant in Stroevo (Bulgaria), 1.5 MW (according to the new regulation recently approved by the Government of Bulgaria), this plant will enter operation foreseeably during the second quarter of this year due to the
necessary adjustments that are being made to comply with the new legislation in force.
This plant at Kalovo should be another prime target for recommissioning.
Bulgarian Syngas Project Launches Construction
April 3, 2014
Karlovo Power Plant Will Turn Syngas Derived from Straw and Wood Wastes into Cleaner, More Reliable and Economic Electricity
The 5-MW Karlovo plant in Bulgaria, pictured here under construction, will use three of GE’s Jenbacher engines to help the country achieve greater energy independence.
Bulgarian plans to use alternative fuels for generating sustainable electricity are now taking shape, following the start of construction of the Karlovo integrated gasified biomass power plant. When completed the plant will distribute cleaner electricity, using wood waste and straw, to some 2,000 homes.
The landmark biomass-to-energy plant powered by GE’s Jenbacher gas engine technology is being built near Stroevo, in Plovdiv province.
This plant is also being developed to reduce Bulgaria’s historic dependence on imported energy. The 5-megawatt (MW) Karlovo plant will use three of GE’s fuel-flexible Jenbacher engines—one J612 and two J620 units.
The engines will be powered by syngas derived from straw and wood chips. Such organic waste is normally difficult to gasify effectively, but tight integration of EQTEC Iberia’s biomass-gasification technology, coupled with GE’s gas engines is expected to provide high levels of emissions performance, efficiency and economy.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2014, the plant is being built by EQTEC Iberia, part of Spanish holding company Ebioss Energy AD. It is the latest development in Ebioss’ strategy to apply its EQTEC Iberia throughout Europe to help countries reduce their dependence on foreign energy supplies and to increase the proportion of energy from renewable sources.

North Fork. Construction is under way and the 2 MW gasification plant should be operational later this year. EQT 20% shareholder in the project.
"We have now delivered our gasification equipment to the site, construction is underway and steel erection started in the first part of 2021."

NORTH FORK, Calif. (KFSN) -- One tree after another, millions of them affected by the bark beetle. Causing the biggest rate of tree mortality the Sierra National Forest has ever seen.
"The degree of tree mortality that the Sierra is experiencing right now is unprecedented," said Dean Gould, Sierra National Forest Supervisor.
"Now we're lucky to have five to seven live trees per acre because the beetles have taken over and it's just destroyed our forests-- it's unbelievable," said Tom Wheeler, Madera County Supervisor.
Now, a possible solution-- a power plant that would convert those dead trees into electricity.
North Fork Community Power and the Yosemite/Sequoia RC&D Council, along with other government leaders and project partners, held a ground breaking ceremony for the bioenergy facility at the site of the old sawmill that closed down in the early 90's.
Dan Rosenburg with the North Fork Community Development Project said the plant is primarily funded through a $5-million grant from the California Commission. He said the power plant will help produce enough energy to power 1,000 homes by baking the wood from the dead trees and collecting the gas emissions that will be used to create the electricity.
"We're going to sell it back to the grid via PG&E, and the money generated with be an economic engine the community."
Supervisor Wheeler said this will be the biggest economic driver for North Fork since the old sawmill. the closer caused hundreds of jobs to be lost. He said this new plant will create about a dozen new jobs but also said he wants this power plant to cause an even bigger reaction.
"Now we can get some of these other businesses to come here and bring jobs here."
Project coordinators said they are ready to get the project going and take down the dead trees to bring new life to North Fork.

The site to be purchased for the Billingham waste to power plant is marked in red.
There are buildings shown on the back part of the site. I take it these are to be constructed to house the waste, gasification plant and equipment? Totally different design to the smaller design for the Irish gasification plant adjacent to Shannon airport.
Shannon Bio Energy Park. It seems Carbon Sole has planning permission for a 25MW development on that site so a 5MW EQT gasification of forest waste and green energy development should just sail through with the Local Planning Authority. Also EQT's design is completely modular so would lend itself to expansion to 10MW or 15MW etc in the future if this became a requirement.
I think the layout and design as seen in the video are brilliant.

The upfront cost will be massively lowered and the project risk correspondingly reduced. All in all this means the project is streamlined and should move into build quickly if the finance is available. When operational, it will provide a showpiece for Ireland and the UK that many other projects can be secured against.
Q. How many trucks of woodchip are required?
A. 24 truck loads of woodchip are required per day. Spread over 8 hours, we will need 3 trucks per hour.
Q. How many jobs will be created?
A. 250 jobs will be created and composed of: 50 Direct full-time jobs, plus a further 100 full-time equivalents in harvesting and haulage and 100 during construction of plant and district heating.
Continued from previous post:
It is also the location of our corporate headquarters and we intend to be a significant player in the decarbonisation process of its industries.”
The pair will work together to source the necessary equity and debt financing for projects in the pipeline, including project acquisition costs.
Carbon Sole will also act as an ongoing business developer for EQTEC, with any project that the parties decide to take forward and develop to be subject to a separate detailed contract.
EQTEC will have the option but not the obligation to obtain up to a 25% equity interest in each project progressed under the agreement.
