Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Weather report has been looking good recently and looks dry over the next 10 days too. DCat posted on Twitter that Rio are currently gearing up to kick off drilling in Solwezi which is close enough to compare weather wise I imagine.
I've been keeping an eye on Sustineri but haven't found much. My best guess is something to do with Fodere Group who NvS is involved with, and who have a 'sustainable' method of zero waste extraction. From there website:
"Turning liabilities into assets using environmentally friendly and innovative techniques in the extraction of titanium, vanadium and iron from low grade ores or tailings material"
Very interesting stuff.
Yes agreed this is one to buy, add and hold in readiness for many multiples of today's price.
Looking forward to news!
Agreed, but drilling commencement is usually mid June to late July so hopefully enough time to complete the airborne survey and still allow an early start. An update on the timing of the airborne work would be useful.
Working in automotive I experience the growing importance of weight and space saving. There's a massive drive for smaller and lighter parts especially now BEV vehicles are heading towards becoming the norm. AMTE are well positioned with their technology and I'm very happy to be invested here nice and early.
Good afternoon everyone and I hope you're all well.
It's a shame to see some posts appear on the board that are targeted at individuals. We're at a potentially very exciting crossroad here where all our patience is on the cusp of being rewarded. Dragging up old conversations from over a year ago isn't going to help to get us over the line here and I'd like to think we can keep our conversations constructive and polite.
We all have the right to speak out but there are many individuals who have invested part of their families financial futures here and we'll do well to remain mindful of this and only post content that is useful.
RKB, I hope you're keeping well.
Over the last couple of months we've reached an overall agreement here by consensus that none of us shall post anything here that is speculative towards the target company or anything else that could inadvertently cause disruption to proceedings. I'm sure you'll empathise with those of us that are keen to promote a positive sentiment on this board and accommodate us by careful choices with regards to posted content.
We're understandably very keen to keep activity here to a minimum until the RTO completes.
Hello Kully. Yes I'm thinking along those lines.
I've always been of the opinion that AA were gunning for Fwiji as a priority so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. We have enough targets to throw in the mix and I wonder if AA might make an acquisition of maybe Fwiji and a further equity stake in Handa to drill the heck out of Muswema, Cheyeza East and Lumbeta.
About our own production plans, I see Cheyeza West falls within the newly named Afrimin license area so maybe that's an option for processing at the Kalaba plant, but what do we know to date about the copper at Kalaba itself? I think the grades found there in the past were ok but I wonder if there's any scope for deeper exploration there.
Who knows.... Very interesting times!!!
Thanks Neil wise words. I hope all is good with you.
I posted the original message and I've been wondering the same thing. Why change from Zamsort? My best guess is so AA can get involved in Muswema / Cheyeza cleanly at company level (Handa) without including Kalaba in the deal, which is part of Zamsort Investments Ltd who own the small-scale plant, which AA won't want.
Another very big indication that we're setting up for AA.
'The red dot is coming'
I believe the cost of the AGM / EGM would need to be covered by those that requested it (us), which would include postage costs to all shareholders. I'm not certain of this so happy to be advised otherwise, but I was told a while ago by someone who is familiar with this kind of thing.
My preferred route would be to request an update similar to the way we approached this in December. A quarterly update if you like, now we're in April.
A quick hello to neilin if you're about? I hope all is well with you.
It seems that wires have been crossed here to be fair Roobler. There's nothing wrong with LargeGin's post or his historical ones.
We all want the same thing and I doubt anyone will have a personal agenda here.
That's a very quick turnaround from application to active which hints that Afrimin is linked to ARCM and this was more of a split and transfer. I'd expect an application from a completely separate entity would take longer, but we'll find out soon enough I guess.
The license in question 19906-HQ-LEL back in Ortac days was known as the Kalaba Extension which I believe covered all of ARCM's target areas that we're familiar with - 1 big license area.
4 years later it was split into what we now know as the Zamsort and Zaco areas to accommodate mining regs. The larger portion of Zamsort retained the license reference 19906-HQ-LEL.
3 years on now and that same license is renewed and updated to cover a reduced area over our priority Zamsort targets.
The large area within the Kalaba Extension / Zamsort means we've been able to protect our priority targets at renewal time. The area that falls outside of the reduced license perimeter is retained by use of a subsidiary company i.e. Zaco.
When I first looked into Afrimin I assumed they were unrelated to ARCM as I couldn't find any links but as pointed out below the area applied for seems to fit alongside ARCM's renewal perimeter confirmed today, so maybe relevant after all. Maybe another ARCM subsidiary is on the cards if that extra area worth keeping?
The main point is that we have a secured position on all of our priority target areas which will be a very big tick in the box and maybe something that takes us closer to news of an AA deal.
I was going to say the same about Rothschild. They'll be looking at all angles of ARCM and the AA deal to get us in an optimum position overall.
CASA feels like baggage but that baggage comes with a lot of gold / money and if we end up keeping it I won't be disappointed. ARCM haven't been paying for it's upkeep over the last 12 months so more money left for drilling regardless.
AA are hooked on the copper now so they won't let a DRC asset get in the way and if they take a stake in Zamsort / Zaco then it doesn't matter because they aren't directly linked to CASA anyway. Personally I'd like to see a majority stake earn-in for CASA from a partner that makes it cost neutral for us and provides future upside to ARCM shareholders.
Anyway the copper is more interesting and plenty of signs that were heading towards something big even if the recent sp movement doesn't suggest the same.
Mining licenses are as re given in 3 blocks. 4 + 3 + 3 years and ARCM are going through the standard renewal process now. The main criteria for keeping licenses is to actively explore them, which is obviously the case at Zamsort.
Another company just trying their luck by applying for the license at renewal time in case it's given up, which this one won't be.
The license in question doesn't include the Kalaba plant. In fact you'll see that Mushinge's previous application for an exploration license at Kalaba (under Cupriferous Resources, nice try MM) has now disappeared, as will this application because we're renewing.
Best not to be spooked by this.
