Franny. You have just made smile. Intentional or not ha ha. Thank you.
It's the spread that has moved it blue.
AA. BlackRock dont give a f$ck who pays just as long as they get paid. It is a name change as far as they are concerned. They probably make a little more actually by charging for document changes etc. Companies are going to the wall, and companies are now holding back payments to keep numbers on their own balance sheets. Little man always loses out whether that be the plumber, hair dresser, florists or PI. This is a 1 in 100 year event.
Red day across the board tomorrow then, unless the market has priced it in and it may well have done but I doubt it. Cash holders are going to make a fortune...just not yet. 4500 anyone? Oil into single digits, below $10 is doable. Zero?
Troajan. What was the title of the post made by Soulsister? Was there reply by the person it was aimed at? Had that person gloated? Had any other at that point. The answer is no. A simple no. The issues are with that person, read some literature about ego, Freud is a good starting point. That was a ego thread post. They made an open thread with an evocative title. It evoked a response. If you think you wont like the answer then you dont have to ask the question. Grow up. If that thread title had not been made there would have been no references to gloating at all. I am still not aware of any gloating. I dont expect you to see this, I really dont. Funny how some of the smoke blowers see the title as a friendly comment that doesnt warrant a response. Get a grip. Throw grenade and you get fall out. Who threw the grenade? Pathetic.
No Safety. No gloating. Definitely not. I think my previous entries would support that. I am merely pointing out someone else's 'twxtish' and inappropriate comment. If people poke bears they get bit. It didnt need to be said, hence I said the issue is clearly more about them and their ego. No one did gloat AT ALL. There was no need for the gloating headline was there? And the headline was from an MM fan.
One thing I have found amusing is how some leading religious figures, or at least vocal ones, are criticising the policy of Bojo and the lead scientists. Funny old world.
Clearly he hasn't been here gloating. He (DB) could, a few could (me included). Actually those that could gloat have been filtered by most. Perhaps the issues are more with those that make comments like yours Soulsister...it says more about them than they perhaps realise.
Well....just well. Sadly, I dont see this as bottom (market as a whole). At this rate big fish will be trading in pennies. Unbelievable. For WRES, another cash call wouldnt surprise me at all. 1929 will seem like the days of plenty when this settles. This was always coming, COViD was the trigger. 2008 was always a problem, like a shadow on a lung. All that QE etc had to unravel. Bollo%. I feel sorry for those that still hold right now. I feel sorry for the pain this will cause millions of people. Wow. Wow. Ohhhh boy. Dark days.
Well, the Feds input seems to have done fxck all. Already some of the business chaps I mix with at the rugby are losing contracts and scaling back. Fxuc. Here it comes.....and it is going to be really messy. WRES, I think there could be some serious issues now. If the Fed cant stop the rot then who can? This is just going to have to unwind, why on earth didnt they let 2008 unravel at the time? The economy has been pumped by cheap money (financial steroids) for the last decade and now it is coming home to roost. A total nightmare. Yes, I am now a total and utter Bear. 4500 looking like the next stop.
Hbob. BMJ and BMA are the metro elite personified. Surprised you sit with them. They sold their souls to Tony the LIAR in 2002/03.
GIT. So what about the carers that come and go? Maintenance staff? Gas engineers and cleaners? Medical staff? Doctors and nurses have been infected, infection transmission is way ahead of developing symptoms. Food deliveries. Person handling the food before it is put on the lorry? Post man(woman). Fire alarm testing services? Prescription delivery driver and those handling the scripts in the warehouse? Pharmacist handling the script? Those that need hospitalisation (as the elderly do) will need to be returned to the hospital with all associated paraphinalia. Or do they stay in hospital and bed block? The chain is so massive, and the virus pretty hardy, that you are talking about stopping a flood with a thimble. It is too late. It is out there, no one is getting this genie back in the bottle.
Dreamy....I think that is exactly the road we are heading down/already on. This has already gone off. Way more are infected than we know about, and I believe this has been the case for a while. I think that is why wider testing has stopped, it is an expensive exercise that has no benefit now. The only upside could be like that of Korea where wider testing produces more statistically valid data on mortality rates against real infection rates.
Safety, interesting you mention 20%. I was shot down for brandishing the figure of 17% many weeks ago and told to account for my 'secret sources'. I recall the heady days of being told it is just flu, oh how we laughed. Admittedly that figure was against a population without proper heath care and high smoking levels and no wider testing (initially). Italy is still hovering around 6-8% and they have an awesome health care system. Lets hope the S.Koreans can add some positivity to this with more reliable data sets (we aren't ever getting the truth from China). Again herd immunity is going to come into question with regard to S.Korea. It is an absolute mess and no one has the answer. Some will be right and some will be wrong. Well, I hope some are right because if everyone is wrong then we are in the poop. Hindsight will be King once more.
Kalan. Political point scoring is rather sad at these times. But grandpa started that trend last week. I agree with your last post, from memory I think I agreed with your earlier ones. Hbob must have discovered a badgers sett on his plot this morning ;-)
For me, this is a nice distraction from paperwork and reports...yes them Tory b'stards have me working at the weekend for free and all to assist people far less fortunate than me. Darn it, i even voted for it. Crazy days. Some cheap holidays out there though, a bit of winter sun. I see the Isle of Wight is being cleared for 'Project Corovirus' - just adding that to the conspiracy theories to see how it runs.
Hbob. Have you been on the 'Momentum juice?' Surely you should vent your anger at the Chinese for covering it up from mid November. No? It is a virus. Any virus, in its nature, is to affect (and effect) its host. This virus is not symbiotic. In any natural population (as you know I believe we are apes) there are events that affect a host population. Nature has seen to this, and will continue to do so. On occasion whole species are lost. For some, a few survive, this is part of the evolutionary process. Nothing to do with politics at all. Like I say, blame the Chinese if you are after a lazy and easy target . I am not sure they are at fault. We will never know. Conspiracy theories are wild and plentiful at this time. So get yourself on a train to the Chinese Embassy and see how that pans out. Much like Greta and her rantings, I have not seen her at the Chinese or Indian embassy. Why? Keyboard warriors picking lazy and easy targets. Funnily enough the Chinese haven't been publically blaming their politicians, and the ones that did are no longer available. It is a virus. There will be more. It is sh%t. It really is and I , or any of us here, could and most likely will be affected. However, it is not the fault of any politician of any shade. The rate of spread in Italy is not slowing and didn't slow when they locked down the north. Korea, as Safety notes, is on it but what will happen long term if there is no vaccine soon and no immunity. How long do you lock a country down for? No one has the answer, this is like a giant experiment ( a very sh&tty one). Solutions will come out of it, systemic systems will hopefully win out. No one, as far as we know, is to blame. I am now of the firm belief that the virus is already rampant and even weeks ago it was. I believed what my contacts in Chin were telling me in January. I believed it too late then. This is a slow mo car crash of epic proportions and will cause problems for many years to come, but as a species I hope we learn from it as there is another virus or like waiting in the wings.

Hbob some of the links lead to more independent literature. However you look at it the data is flawed, inaccurate and spurious.
Hbob. You do know that data is inaccurate. Totally invalid and failed a number of peer assessed reviews. I expect better from you Hbob. The same data was used is 2003 and 2004 (under labour) and it was far more horrific.
Global depression could well be embedded by Easter if there is no sign of this letting up. This could make 1929 look like a birthday celebration. Doesn't bode well for any sector, let alone the junior markets. Demand is going to drop off off like a cannon off a cliff. Talk of $10 a barrel? Can you imagine that? 4000 could be on the cards. Blxxdy hell. I thought IAG could hit the £2 region, if this carries on it could go pop. The systems are so interconnected now. However, CO2 levels are falling so it isn't all bad and we still have Lisa Nandy.
It doesn't matter who is in charge. They will be devil or deep blue sea either way. No one knows what the real outcome will look like and hindsight is a wonderful thing. The virus is already mutating so there is no reason to think that it wont become a regular feature on the winter illness calendar like flu and Noravirus. So some form of vaccine or drug that minimilises its effect will be required (I am thinking Tamiflu or alike). All future stuff now. Schools are busy preparing workbooks for pupils as I write...they are planning for school closures. Chinese factories...still closed. No one to sell stuff to anyway. Lets see how the market reacts tomorrow, Richard Branson has come out with his begging bowl...perhaps he should visit his bank accounts in the British Virgin Islands first.
Dreamy. Fully agree on your last post. I spend a lot of my time dealing with people that haven't got a pot to p!ss in. They do not have the financial means to bulk buy as they move from week to week or day to day (many reasons for this, good and bad). This panic buying is totally fxcking them up. There are children at the end of this chain. For fxcks sake stop panic buying you selfish arseh@les.
GIT. Have you checked out any names on that list? Interesting names, a lot of students on there. Phd's aplenty. The joy of science....once you have a hypothesis every scientist in the lecture wants to go out and either improve it for debunk it. A beautiful thing is science. Truly beautiful.
Dreamy, are you telling me that french farmers will allow their food to rot in trucks in Calais because they cant get to an audience of over 72 million. We will soon find out wont we. I am sorry to say that great great grandparents will not get you an Irish Passport unless you can complete a very long chain. Parents yes, grandparents only after your parents sort theirs first (well that is the easiest route).
Safety. I have just read a tweet about allowing the virus to spread. It was fairly informative and did make some sense. Well to me, which doesnt always say a lot. It is a risk, but could pay off longer term. Bottom line, no cure is inbound so how long are these countries going to stay on lockdown? Is it sustainable? Probably not. CV is here to stay by the looks of it. So are the locked down places staying this way until there is a vaccine or will the virus still spread and create some herd immunity? I've no idea as to what the right answer is but attempting controlled mass exposure could be a wonderful long term strategy or a short term disaster. Time will tell. This are testing times. Either way, no one can stop this flood.
Hbob. This bitterness will eat you up. You are going to have to accept that labour are dead and not coming back for a while, if ever. Start your own party, there will be a big void soon enough. Nandy, Nandy, Nandy.
