No body else backed SPD appointment. Absolute whitewash. Suspect SPD gave up on trying to get the numbers. Now finalise the sale of kitbag and let's push on....
Article in today's observer on the likely defeat of MA this week. National press keeping an eye on this issue, maybe just trying to give MA a few black eyes to coincide with the expose in to SPD and workers.
The guardian has a take on the dramas going on at SPD. I wonder in findel is even a blip on MA,s radar http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/dec/06/mike-ashley-sports-direct-busy-fixture-list
43.92% already saying no to this appointment. Seems pretty much decided, my query is, are they releasing RNS's (or RN'ii perhaps) detailing who's on board just to try and force SPD in to action.. I wonder what the rumour mill will throw up today.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/12020348/Sports-Direct-faces-boardroom-backlash-as-it-swoops-for-more-control-at-Findel.html Don't normally read he tory graph buy they have a piece on findel/sports direct. No major insight beyond what's been said on here mind.
apparently they are waiting for new owner to sort financing. Kitbag figures were not great so maybe a bit of buyers remorse there....
The stand out fact for me was that kitbag is listed as a discontinued operation and no info given. Sale is as good as signed....
What is the opinion of the BB on this? I agree that waiting until after Isobel 2 would have been wise (assuming positive), I wonder what the RKH board is saying, will be worth a look for sure!
right then chaps. place bets now. let me see, express gifts continues to grow, education down a few percent...debt reduced. insight of the decade!

Sports Direct forcing hands?
I am inclined to agree with your assessment. I think once kitbag is offloaded the fundamentals of the core business will become clearer and a more rational assessment of the price will materialise. if KB is sold at the right price then the reduction in debt will be a huge positive. The proposed tie in with SD as mooted on this board would create huge potential. However, I think findel is undervalued even without this aspect and I suspect mike ashley and Co know a bargain when they see it, shared distribution or not.
I'm surprised the fdl bb hasnt become more lively with instant experts in the sales of football shirts or the delivery of education supplies taking it up or down big time. Thats normally the way it works on here after a big jump.
You were right. Deep pockets indeed. Mike Ashley is gearing up for a T/O!
Tidy little bump on Friday, and more significantly: volume
Depressing how long this drop has been sustained for.
the whole situation is annoying. FDL shares slide tank along with global equities but don't pull back up in line. Findel group is primarily a UK retailer so is less exposed than others to this sort of global instability. I was hoping this would be more resilient. Will be glad of the weekend also.

Nothing exciting. Seems like a run of the mill regulatory necessity. Any other takes on it?
That, subject to the confirmation of the Court: (a) the share capital of the company be reduced by cancelling and extinguishing 90 pence of the amount paid up or credited as paid up on each of the issued Ordinary Shares of 100 pence in the capital of the company and reducing the nominal value of each issued and authorised but unissued Ordinary Share in the capital of the company to 10 pence; and (b) the share premium account and the capital redemption reserve of the company be cancelled what are the implications of this for the average PI?
