The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
That's pretty much what I intend on doing... I expect this to fluctuate heavily over the coming months and I don't want to scare myself out of what *could* be a real gem. I knew about bitcoin in 2012/3 - wish I did something about it back then :(
Momoni - be prepared for extreme volatility on this one. It is a high-risk high-reward deal - there will be a big pullback to 1.5 (perhaps more) I reckon over the coming days when this cools off.. but just remember GS Fintech ltd is still just in its infancy at this stage. They don't even have FCA approval yet.
According to Simply Wall St - this company *should* have a value of £3 per share - is this anywhere near accurate? Every stock screener I have looked at says this company should be swinging it out of the park.. but if that's true - then why isn't it :/
I don't get why anyone would sell on the back of the recent news tbh.. (?)
Anyone?? MGGT just had a massive 28% jump and then it went back again?!
@Faris - like you, I don't understand how a company's market cap could be lower than the value of it's assets. Of all the companies I looked at, RRE had the strongest balance sheet and a seemingly very bright future.. the SP should be wayyy higher imo.
There also seems to be a lot of paranoia in these share chats and I don't know why? A dude asks a simple question and gets called out as a "paid ramper" (which I had to google the meaning of). I've experienced this myself when I had the *audacity* to ask how a potential M&A could effect SP. How dare we try to learn from more experienced investors! :O
So with the other proposed return of 40p per share... will that knock 40p off the share price and reduce the market cap by £18m??
@ant - I really don't get how I've caused so much offence by asking a question about an M&A? lol... I'm not exactly trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes here, so not sure what people are supposed to "see through" ...
And what do you mean by "atb in the green box"? - tried googling it, all I found was pictures of recycling bins.
If this is somehow about the fair value calculation I made for RockRose Energy shares, I would encourage you to look at their balance sheet and do the maths for yourself. I'd be very interested to know what figure you come up with :)
@antharry - because I can read numbers and do some basic calculations, and then apply a little bit of logic as to whether I think a company is undervalued or not - means I'm playing silly buggers? :/
I've only been doing this for 2 months, I was just trying to get some insight from someone that's got more experience than I do..
Like I said last week, I'm very new to this whole investing thing and understand very little besides how to find a half-decent company to buy into... But suppose GKP did get bought out, what would that mean for us as shareholders exactly?? A nice payout for each share we have and forfeit our holding entirely? Or would we continue to be share holders, but under a different entity? Also, from what I have read, I understand that M&A's generally cause the SP of the selling company to rise - would it be wise to sell before any deal is struck or is it better to wait? Thanks guys :)
Before I took a nap it was 115.... woke up and it was down to 106 so I panic sold to lock in my gains before it fell even further. Then I bought back in almost straight away because I couldn't find any news to suggest why this is happening.. Any ideas??
@Armasmaximilian - relative to pre-crash prices, GENL is only 57p shy of it's 21st Feb price. Whereas GKP is 105p shy. I would say that there is wayyyy more upside to buy into/buy more of GKP now as opposed to GENL... regardless of GENL gains. Just look at the balance sheet and trust that it's a bargain at 76p right now :)
@hasiba - I would argue that having the attitude of 'hoping the BoD's does something tangible in the near future to convince you to hold or you're selling' *is* attaching an emotion to your train of thought... the fear of uncertainty perhaps? Impatience maybe? At the end of the day, oil is oil... no matter which company it comes from. The demand will return in time and will continue to grow as developing nations consume more and more.. GKP *will* bounce back - but I think it's smaller market cap compared to GENL has been the dominant reason why the big money investors have overlooked GKP in these unprecedented times.
