You probably meant “unsubstantiated” and I broadly agree with you. I am now very wary of people dragging in the NHS trying to give more gravitas to their unsubstantiated assertions...
Last year they released a RNS for Results and Trading Reports on the 12th of February. Are we going to see the same next Tuesday?
https://venturebeat.com/2019/01/24/superdata-vr-grew-30-in-2018-thanks-to-psvr-oculus-quest-will-be-2019s-hit/ After floundering in 2017, virtual reality hardware actually outperformed optimistic sales expectations in 2018, SuperData Research said today, with annual VR revenues reaching $3.6 billion — higher than the Nielsen-owned firm’s late 2018 forecast of $3.3 billion. That’s a 30 percent year over year increase in revenues, a particularly noteworthy improvement given holiday price drops on some of the leading VR devices.
I’ve been on this EVRH journey form more than two years and I hope it will now get the necessary momentum to overcome what Forbes describes as the “science-fiction payphone problem”. Many investors still look at VR through the tired eyes of old business models. The real journey will start when someone will reinterpret VR under a completely new paradigm: https://www.forbes.com/sites/cheriehu/2018/11/29/whats-the-actual-business-case-for-virtual-reality-in-music/#5b7419281f98
...as LTH without any meaningful news from the BOD. And no, Twitter doesn’t count at all in this context.
+3.9% in less than an hour? Have we missed some news?
The Oculus Connect 5 conference kicks off today in San Jose. Major announcements are expected.
In the meanwhile oil prices rose to fresh four-year highs near $81 a barrel after global producers decided against further output increases despite demands from US President Donald Trump for renewed action to cool prices...
I’ve decided to up thIs morning, I think IDC picture of current VR market is accurate.
Here is the IDC article itself: https://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS44257218
Interesting article on ZDnet. VR sales are down but there should be a rebound: https://www.zdnet.com/article/virtual-reality-shipments-crater-in-q2-but-idc-says-dont-worry/
If MelodyVR would have been released on Sony own PSVR headset...
I’d like to hear more about the move to Android and iOS. Would they reformat the video in some way? The idea of watching 3dof 360 videos on a smartphone seems extremely uncomfortable unless they will start selling some sort of VR stick to prop people’s arms...
This sudden change of strategy on the experience delivery method seems a move to expand the customer base on an established hardware. Is it because VR headset sales are less than stellar? If the company pitched itself on the VR moniker, recasting itself under something else is dilution of the original mantra. On the other hand, since they need revenues they need to get them wherever they can.
So, sale revenues from the 2nd of May to the 30th of June are £6,831 or about £115 per day???
If VR kit don’t sell this duck isn’t going to float. Even MM manipulations cannot change commercial reality: https://www.econsultancy.com/blog/70261-why-are-vr-headset-sales-declining
I’ll increase my current investment when I see some reliable & positive figures on VR headset sales.
I’ve decided to lower my investment on this share. EVRH fortunes are ultimately bound to vr headsets adoption and the news around are not optimistic. With vendors being tight lipped (and no one surely wants to keep secret good news), digital trends have used amazon free stats to check for VR sales on its platform: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/proof-vr-sales-numbers-sinking/ Do your own research, I’ve decided I’ll get back in VR when the trend changes for EVRH or any other company that might be still around when that happens.
