In July 2025, Rockhopper Exploration raised approximately $140 million through a conditional equity placing to fund its share of the Phase 1 development of the Sea Lion oil field in the North Falkland Basin.

The fundraising was structured in two parts, with proceeds held in escrow until the project reaches a Final Investment Decision (FID).

Components of the capital raise

Firm placing ($115 million): This tranche involved the placing of new ordinary shares and warrants, for which Rockhopper had already received binding commitments from investors.

Proposed open offer (up to €8 million): The company also planned an open offer for existing shareholders who did not participate in the placing, expected to be completed after the FID.

AI says - Rockhopper Exploration (RKH) is targeting a Final Investment Decision (FID) for its Sea Lion project in the second half of 2025. Some analysts believe the FID could come by the end of September 2025.
