I recently took a friend into CARD and he was very impressed with the quality for the price. He's never looked in there before and usually buys in M&S but has been converted to CARD now that he's trying to make his money go further. This could be a sign of a new trend . They have a shop in our town and also a display at Morrisons.

the international operation swung to a £11.6m loss from an £8.8m profit a year earlier.

ADMIRAL have announced closure of offices in Newport, Cardiff and Swansea based on a move towards "hybrid" home-working after the pandemic. The TY ADMIRAL and CAPITAL TOWER offices in the city will remain. This sounds to me like good news for employees and investors.

HMRC website: You can earn some dividend income each year without paying tax.
There's no tax to pay on any dividend income that falls within your Personal Allowance (the amount of income you can earn each year without paying tax). PLUS You get a dividend allowance each year. You only pay tax on any dividend income above the dividend allowance. For 2020/21 it is £2,000. My shares are in my ISA so no tax to pay on anything.

We don't know what the Budget will hold - increased Corpn Tax prob, increase duty on booze deffo, so all drinks related shares might wobble but then when we're free to go to pubs they'll probably pick up again. Popped into local Card F shop today, where there was a brisk trade, and bought individual cards for my family. They also sell stamps at the till, which is a nice touch. Personally, I prefer handwritten messages in cards and CF shop prices for quality cards are reasonable IMO.

Me too @ 29.56 average and a modest £3k as I only ventured into trading this year. Not really confident ATM but at least it's kept me sane.
