Good point dprussky. WetWater, how did you find out about the event you're attending?
Just to add, the Tech Event is being held on 28th June. So presumably their "Plans for ongoing exploration and potential development" will already have been made public by then, hopefully in advance of POQ's investor meetings which start next week. As WetWater so rightly said, it seems unlikely POQ would hold such important meetings without any concrete information to impart.
WetWater, I know I speak for everyone here when I say we can't wait for your feedback after next week's meeting. So many thanks in advance!
Thanks ITguy. Clearly investing.com has just started providing data for NEO. The historical price chart only goes back to May 1st, giving the impression that Falcon has been newly listed this week. As you were!
According to investing.com Falcon has been listed on a Canadian exchange called NEO since May 1st in addition to the TSXV. Never heard of NEO until today.
Good question, Suark. Empire's share price doubled on the day of the lifting and has stayed doubled.
So annoying that you can't edit your posts! Probably obvious but just to clarify, by the "home market" I was talking about Australia, the home of the Beetaloo.
Nice reply WIO and no, I didn't take your feelings about the ASX personally! My point about the difficulty of buying Falcon was primarily regarding the home market but also in general. The US is the biggest stock-buying country and yet the number of shares traded on the US exchange are always well below Canada, which is a much smaller market. To me, that points to the fact that it's easier to buy Falcon in Canada because it's registered there. In the US it's listed as a foreign stock and not all brokers allow traders to buy it, and of those that do, many charge exorbitant fees for penny stocks. Actually, after looking at this interesting table https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/countries-trading-the-most-stocks.html and the possibility of China being involved in the Beetaloo that a listing on the Chinese stock exchange could be fruitful. I don't know for sure but I could well imagine that Chinese traders are only allowed to buy shares in companies listed on their own exchange so I very much doubt they'd have access to Falcon as things stand.
Walk-it-off - I think we all know that all penny stocks, on ALL exchanges are subject to manipulation. Those notorious backroom boys we keep hearing about! Surprised at your vehement refusal to consider the ASX. Australian investors are the ones most exposed to news of the Beetaloo so how are they currently to buy shares in Falcon? Thanks for your information about Fidelity but I'm not in the market for buying any more Falcon myself, I was referring to the difficulty of buying shares with certain US brokerage accounts. Trying to make the point that it's not that easy for everyone to get into Falcon. And actually, I don't think one could transfer FOLGF shares to Fidelity UK anyway, the account would have to be in pounds sterling. Maybe in countries where Fidelity doesn't have a dedicated branch you could use the international trading platform and have a USD denominated account. But Fidelity has a proper .co.uk website. Maybe Australians would be able to purchase Falcon via Fidelity but how many would take the trouble to open an account there? If something's not easily do-able, most people don't bother. Hence my suggestion of the ASX to attract the home market.
In my 10 years of studying Falcon charts on a several-times-a-day basis I've never known it move according to anything but market madness and fundamentals. My observation is that technical analysis on Falcon doesn't work. All it takes is a news release that the market wasn't expecting (as opposed to the recent buy the rumour, sell the news lifting of the moratorium), and the price will shoot up again. I think Philip should listen to his own words about the market having not yet grasped the Falcon story and find various ways of serving up the story to drive the message home. In marketing they say a prospect needs to be confronted with a message 7 times before they take action so I would use the same approach with prospective shareholders and look for innovative ways of marketing this criminally undervalued company. I like to think this is already happening behind the scenes. It's absolutely vital to keep the share price up as otherwise it'll negatively impact the magnitude of any takeover bids. .
Jfhealy - ask him about Falcon listing on the ASX. (The Australian stock exchange). Thank you.
Thanks drussky. So WTF are we waiting for? Perhaps someone can speak to POQ about this.
Anyone know how easy it would be for Falcon to get itself listed on the Australian ASX exchange? I'm sure that as someone recently said here, for those outside the UK and Canada, it's not that easy to buy Falcon shares. My US brokerage has stopped allowing the purchase of foreign OTC stocks ending in F (FOLGF) although luckily if you hold them already they'll graciously allow you to hold or sell them. But you can't purchase any. On the ASX, over 4 million Origin shares are being traded daily. That's more than Falcon on AIM for a stock trading at 25 times the price of Falcon. Clearly, the Australian market "gets" the Beetaloo story and its potential. I feel gutted that we Falconers are not reaping the benefits.
dprussky, Lucro said he won the DRAFT report guesses, not the Final Report. I think it was more of an unofficial guessing game.
Does anyone have any thoughts on potential scenarios (with regard to Falcon) if someone makes a hostile bid for Origin?
The company won't be for sale though. Not until if and when we sell our interests in the Karoo. (Presumably they'll throw Hungary in as a freebie when that happens!). When we sell our interests in the Beetaloo we'll get a dividend in line with how many shares we hold and afterwards, Falcon Oil and Gas will continue to exist and we'll still have the same number of shares. If we want shares in the company who's buying out our interests, we'll have to use our dividend to buy them ourselves.
You nailed it! You won't be buying a drink all night at the big Falcon get-together.
is that none of us will win and that the draft report won't be issued till the Tuesday after Easter (too lazy to check the exact date but that would be April, hence no winner) and the moratorium lifted by the end of the same week. Not trying to start a new flood of guesses here since if that IS the case, there'll be no winners. Surprised to see that some of us are feeling anxious. I feel more like a kid at Christmas. I don't know yet what will be in my gifts, just that there WILL be gifts under the tree for me!
Coma, posts like that should come with a health warning. My heart's going as if I'd just run a 4-minute mile! Thanks for sharing. If true, and I have no reason to disbelieve you, this is absolutely fantastic, life-changing news.
