Get the BOD investigated29 May 2026 15:05
Any company endeavouring to bring a new product to market, especially ones as transformative as MSAR and Bio MSAR, has to overcome massive barriers to change. Not only does the product have to deliver but the company behind the project has to be seen to be capable of delivering what is an enormous logistical challenge. It is not a simple case of choosing the 4 star petrol pump as opposed to the 2 star, it is the infrastructure capable of putting the 4 star petrol at each of the petrol stations.
The recent changes to the BOD have seriously enhanced the capabilities of the company in this endeavour. PB has built an enviable reputation in the shipping industry and to suggest that he is willing to risk this simply for a regular income is childish. All the members of the BOD are laser focussed on the success of QED as this leads to huge financial returns and a lead role in the transition of commercial shipping to greener fuels. Reputations and fortunes are at stake and to suggest any malfeasance by the board is both childish and irresponsible.
I understand the level of frustration by shareholders, I am as disappointed in the slow progress and lack of communication as the next man, but the adolescent level of discourse by some on this forum is disconcerting.
What QED are attempting to achieve is ground-breaking and potentially enormously lucrative. It is also incredibly difficult, especially as a very small company attempting to instigate massive change in multi-billion pound enterprises who, quite frankly, have bigger problems to solve in the short term.
The biggest producers of HFO are Russia, Saudi Arabia and the US so given the current situation in the gulf and Russia, simply ensuring adequate supplies is of concern. Add in another layer of complexity ie the delivery and bunkering of MSAR etc and one can see why there may be delays in finalising the contracts. The problem does not stem from whether or not MSC want the product but more from the question of can the potential demand for it be satisfied and that cannot happen until all the complex logistics have been put in place.
I am hoping that QED and its partners are capable of doing that.
