Cannot understand why there are so many doomsters on this thread.Everyone knows that most of the stores are still making a profit excluding interest/debt repayments.Even if you wrote off all goodwill you still have fixed assets which considering the amount of Capex over the last few years is substantial.
All this when trading results have been very poor as the BOD have not done a very good job running the business and have failed to meet expectations over a long period of time.Also by bringing in someone who never traded from bricks and mortar who got rid of experienced staff and replaced them with people who did not understand the business.You can see what happened at superdry this week where the shareholders took control due to the founders still having substantial holdings and were not happy with the way the company was being run

s over the last few days there have been no announcements from MA,I think that is good news and I am sure that somewhere conversations are going on surrounding his bid most probably with the BOD.There are no insults flying around and I still believe that a bid will come and will be accepted.It is plain to see buying this company will add value to his whole corporation and in a few years time there will be those who will say they could not understand why they missed the boat.

I am sure this also will not be prepacked.I think the BOD would be sud if they did it and I think there would be a reasonable chance of winning,however we would have already lost our money.The BOD reputations would be destroyed though if they did it.
As I mentioned in my earlier post this deal is a no brainer for MA as it will be highly profitable for him.If he does not get it his purchase of HOF will fail and cost him a significant sum

Surprised that there virtually been no RNS in the last few days with owners of shares now over 1% since the share trades have been very high.
I am sure that this company will be taken over by MA.The only thing we do not know is whether it will be either tomorrow or Friday or if he will wait to Monday.However we could get an RNS that states that Monday's date has been put back as they are in discussions as I do not think they are desperate for the last portion of the loan that would make our share have no value.Being a born and bred retailer every time I look at the figures it makes even more sense for MA to bid

As expected the share price has started to move in the right direction

This share is a win win all the way to the bank for MA.He will buy the firm for around 60 to 80 million pounds he then will settle the oweings by refinancing at a lower cost.He then has the assets of the company and then the big payback starts.He can combine all back office functions with HOF,save on rents and then he will have a highly profitable business if then deals with the basics of retail

Just topped up my holding as the reaction since yesterday has been too great.Expect by the end of the day for the share price to have recovered.

The whole board are going within three months.Not sure that all should have gone though as it would help stability.Not sure on the comment about John Smith.Many people did not think he was right for Burberry coming from the BBC.I am sure the price will go up soon

In the morning this week there have been many sells, however as the day goes on the purchases catch up and overtake.With the large sells this morning the price moved only a small amount and now the buys are starting to come in the price will rise.I am still sure bid will come in on Thursday

I do not think you have read the whole story about this company always winning.Even the vast majority of the stores earmarked for closure are currently making a profit.However in the years to come with their current overheads they would not be unless their format changed.At the AGM in January one store was just taken off the list as they were not only going to shrink it but were getting a substantial amount to refurbish it.The reaso they are in their current state is that their debt is holding them down.Again in January they were still expecting a small profit for this year which has been wiped out by interest payments and consultant charges etc.Strip those out when money comes in then there is a viable business for the future which has assets,hence why MA is interested

This is totally different to FLYB.The stores are all kitted out and are still trading profitably.What there problem has been was taking a CEO who did not understand bricks and mortar stores.I go into their main store at least once a week and you can see why they have been going wrong.Too many staff doing unproductive work etc etc.Going back to basics will turn this round in notime.Also interest charges would be putting on a strain and any refinancing will lower these as well as cost savings both on staff and Rent.This company has a strong future and just hope that shareholders will reap the rewards.

Nothing has come out yet but there was an emergency board meeting this afternoon,however not sure whether there was a pre meeting before it as when I left the building JD was still in the meeting room.It will be interesting what happens at the board meeting .It would not surprise me that JD has already in his mind got a new board to replace the existing one.However to get rid of the board unless they go under their own steam he will either have to pay large amounts of money or have to call another meeting to vote them off which also would cost money.As the vote was quite close I do not think he would want to go down the second avenue and maybe they will sort out a comprimise

I was right that during the last hour buys outnumbered sells and looks like more buys for the day than sells when a few hours ago it was the other way round.unfortunately the price ended slightly lower than yesterday.

You are wrong.Their contracts could be for a year I will check.They would need to be put on gardening leave etc.However there is still a business to be run and there needs to be a smooth transition otherwise there will be a long delay before any fruits emerge.The non execs should be purged looking at some of them I cannot understand how they got appointed.They need their CFO who only recently joined them and seems to have a good track record from his previous employers.

The share price will rise a lot when the next RNS comes out.That will give the results of the Board meeting and the organisation of the company going forward

I think you will find that this share will spike towards the end of the day and by the end of the week will be higher than now as we will be closer to a RNS

I think that the offer will come either Wednesday or Thursday as I do not think MA will wait to Friday.I think the BOD most probably are putting out feelers as if they drive the new funding to a prepack position I am sure they will be sued by not treating shareholders fairly and most probably would be banned from serving on any board as there were many more viable options on the table.
Also I am sure they will see what happened today at Superdry as MA does not need many extra votes to beat them.

I was at the EGM and the first contribution from the floor was spot on.Hopefully not all the board will resign most probably the ones who have been on longest that got the share into this state should go right now.Hopefully there will now be some recovery in the share price

With JPM and Brandes selling their shares last week .I wonder who has bought them as we have not had any RNS with this showing.Maybe they will come today as anyone with over 1% need to announce
