JP… I’m a builder. I have tons of work and none of it is for the likes of PSN. Look at the bonuses and pay packages of those at the top. For years they’ve made an absolute fortune. Good luck getting material prices down when the building trade stretches wayyyyy beyond new builds and there’s still huge demand. And the absolute best of luck finding tradesmen. There aren’t any. Kids don’t want to know. I haven’t met a plasterer under 30 who hasn’t followed their dad into it. And it’s rare. Same goes for brickies. It’s supply and demand and it’s an incredibly hard job. I’d like to see you do 12 hours on a trowel, a van filled with thousands of pounds worth of kit just to do the job, trade insurance and commercial vehicle insurance etc, for what you perceive to be fair. 3 years in college and a life time of physical toil takes a lot more work than 3 years in uni to then somehow be fully qualified and sat at a desk. It takes a decade to be a good tradesman. You pay for it because we put in the time. So next time you need something fixing, try doing it yourself. See how you get on.
