He bought launch….. the separately run company. Even though David (Alastair) Smith is one of the 2 directors. The fella who ran it since 2010(and before under a different name) Was born in 1953 and seems to have retired on the sale.

The most recent accounts (year end 2021) make for interesting reading…. A portion of the revenue seems to be from a settled dispute. Their main source of income is the NHS. The company statement is very brief given they have a much much much higher turnover and revenue than Avacta but I suppose that makes sense given they’re not a PLC.

I still don’t quite understand what the plan for Launch is……

I agree with you and with Icecool on that other thread. AS does an excellent job with the science. And it isn’t about the SP for him, except that keeping investors informed is literally part of his job.

No one here can answer that question. And that is the problem. It’s not a fluffy or pointless RNS, it’s fundamental.

The exclusion of PIs from meetings is laughable in an age of Zoom Calls. Especially since we used to get a look in. Science day was just stupid and it didn’t work.

No follow up to science day is also mad. It’s an opportunity missed.

They have pre clinical data for 3996, they even have an extract from a poster outlining how pre clinical is going…. But it was found by a user here. And not reported. So no news vacuum. Awful comms. What would people vote if a vote on confidence in Alastair Smith was put forward?

I personally think he’s done an excellent job guiding the company to where it is now including some brilliant strategic moments financially that have helped us transition from a covid to a therapeutic company. But….. everyone has a limit. And I suspect AS has found his and perhaps it’s time for a more business driven CEO at the helm and AS leading the “science side” of things. A drop from 185 to 110 with zero comms is quite staggering really.
