Also you short by borrowing stock and then selling it. (Hence the calls by PIs saying they’ve shorted on IG are lies as you can’t borrow AIM shares in general as PI). The way to close a short is to buy the share back, be it at a lower price (a successful short) or a higher price than when you borrowed them (a failed short). It’s quite incredible that some people talk about shorters closing without actually understanding the basics.

The only real use I can see for LFTs down the line is in triage. I do think they’ll ever be considered as a final diagnostic but they could weed out a lot of time wasters visiting doctors surgeries and a and E thinking they have the bubonic plague when they’ve just got a heavy cold, but they’d have to be prescribed via pharmacies to gauge is a visit to see the doc is necessary.
