Totally agree. I’d like to see the diagnostics division sold off. The value of therapeutics could be so massive that I don’t see what the benefit of developing a costly DX division would be other than a near term money pit.

Gemstar, he makes absolutely no mention of therapeutics, the trial ongoing without any reason for it to be stopped, no mention of the potential of first readout just 4-8 weeks away being positive and the effect it would have on the SP, he literally just focuses on the balance sheet and diagnostics. He hasn’t mentioned potential Dox market share, he hasn’t valued the potential of PreCision if AVA6000 trials are a success, he hasn’t factored in the potential of ongoing trials with Point, Daewoong or LG, he hasn’t factored in the lack of product development costs since the LFT has been essentially dropped, he’s literally made the ****test argument possible based on his incredibly limited/zero knowledge of Avactas fundamentals and your post here shows you are also as thick as he is. Final product, show Avacta as being down 11p, not 5p as is the actual situation and a seemingly large drop of nearly 9% wiping a 10th of the value of a company within weeks of releasing data on what could be genuinely ground breaking trials. What an obvious game playing pile of ****.

When spread betting you don’t buy shares. You bet on them going up or down. You also leverage your shares. Avacta is currently at 20% so you can leverage up to 5 times the value of what you put in. You also bet per point. So if you put in £100 per point then you would gain £100 every time it goes up by one penny and down £100 if it drops one penny and so on and so forth. A simple method is to add 2 zeros to your bet to work out how many shares equivalent you own. So £100 per point is the equivalent to owning 10,000 shares. The effect is that if you over leverage then you can quickly lose the lot. The advantage if you have the balls is you can also “buy” a lot more shares than you can afford. Where the likes of IG make a living is people over leveraging and going negative and having to constantly top up their account as the share dives or blowing the account to zero or simply closing a bet to cover your over leverage. Also if the bid is say 120, and the ask is 125 they will offer you 119 on the bid and 126 on the offer meaning you always start slightly more behind than you would with a normal trade. None of it is for the feint hearted. But…. Where you have a 20k a year isa allowance you have an infinitely tax free window for gains on spread betting. Make 100k, keep the lot. Feel free to correct where I’ve got this wrong anyone.

You can by the way run a spread bet account like a normal account by simply not over leveraging and simply using it for the tax free gains like an ISA.

Also according to Myles you get the same benefit via spread betting if there is dual listing. Though I’m not sure if it gives you the right to vote as with simply buying the shares.
