I personally have never been satisfied with settling for 'average'...it completely goes against my nature. I have only this week split my World fund between 2 other index funds. I enjoy messing around with investments too much. I am a very undisciplined investor. And I don't advocate this approach to anyone.

Absolutely agree with not taking a bet with a single fund. Not only is it hard to stomach downturns, but it leaves you at risk if a fund goes bust. I never understood the Buffet mantra of just buy a single cheap S&p 500 fund and forget it. Investing is slightly more nuanced then that in my opinion.

My personal investing time horizon is at least 20 years. SMT is a down-on-its luck investment trust, with some very good holdings, and with it's current negative nav, a good buying opportunity IF you want to take some risk, AND have a suitable long term time line, OR maybe want to dollar-cost average down. I share a common interest as a fellow investor, and SMT could be a potentially long term lucrative investment. Thank you and no ill-will intended to anyone. As investors in SMT, "one for all, and all for one". Do ones own research or/ and seek professional financial advice is my understanding.

I am going to be dialing down my monthly allocation to around 10% for Scottish Mortgage. I agree 30% is too high and I would like to reduce this, but still buy some shares.

I am also thinking of adding in an Emerging Market fund and a Smaller companies global index fund from iShares as my World Tracker is developed world only.

For anyone who is interested there is an SMT investor relations seminar on the 1st November at 13:30 hrs that you can attend.

I am thinking about buying some shares in this company. Seems like cyber security is here to stay.

Actually more 30%

I got in at 740 so I am in the red. However I really like a lot of the holdings. Never thought I would own a piece of Ferrari! I am going to start buying a few more shares each month. I think that SMT is about 20% of my 2 fund portfolio. All depends on your time horizon and whether you like the stocks. I also like the unlisted companies. I like Northvolt, Bytedamce and Space X. I invest a vanilla World tracker and SMT. That's all.

Anyone else buying the dip?
