The cinema chain has bought itself more time to reduce its large debt pile and restructure its balance sheet, in a move that would in effect wipe out existing shareholders.
What are you expecting to happen to the share price going forward?
Thinking of starting a new position around 3-4p
Dilution doesn’t necessarily mean they will issue millions and billions of new shares… It could simply mean after the sale of assets (deleveraging), we as shareholders would own a smaller business, thus causing us to be diluted
Wolf. I interpret the statement differently, sorry.
How can they guarantee any sort of recovery in the share price? That would be irresponsible and would leave them open to legal problems in the future…
Yes, they aren’t guaranteeing / expecting a recovery in the share price i.e to what it was before…
* was 60% down
I was in a similar situation with Petra Diamonds. Was 60%, articles were suggesting doom and gloom ‘shareholders will be wiped out’ and ‘there won’t be any recovering in the share price’. I’m currently 10% up.
RNS has clearly stated that shares won’t be suspended but there will be a dilution of equity interests and they are not guaranteeing a full recovery of the share price.
No wipeout at all. You’re all doom and gloom mate.
*off
Everybody keeps going on about dilution as if the current price of 4.4p will end up being diluted to maybe 1p for example.
I don’t think this will happen.
Isn’t dilution just going to be Cineworld selling of various sites, meaning the company is technically worth less and the shares are diluted in that way.
So theoretically the price remains at 4.4p… We just own a much smaller company?
We should be expecting an article tonight around midnight hopefully giving us some more detail. Doesn’t look good though.
Lol if you read his posting history further back, you’ll see he got £5000 shares and then then sold them at a big loss around 24 hours later. He’s a total idiot. Bitter springs to mind.
Wouldn’t be surprised if this slow rise is buys coming in from Polaris and Jhango. Maybe not but who knows.
Oh yeah, I get your point. They shouldn’t have made that error.
But at the moment, it isn’t anything to do with the survival of Cineworld or people’s shares and essentially those 20% shares are still held.
Bit of a nothing story
Loose?
My dad went to the shops and never came back :(
