Pogust, Goodhead, Mousinho, Bianchini & Martins, PGMBM," We are a global leader in group litigations ". They are also trying to get compensation for Diesel Mercedes Benz owners, similiat to the VW emissions scandal. I don't think this has affected today's 2% drop. Let's see how the week pans out.
Nice to see there are no short positions over 0.50% in play. Source:- https://www.fca.org.uk/markets/short-selling/notification-and-disclosure-net-short-positions
Seriously does anyone on here believe they can affect the share price by posting their views about a company in a positive or negative way ? I don't think so, why, no one is buying or selling the volumes that cause a share movement on this share chat. As a private investor I read as much as I can from all over the place, News, Media, web sites, so called experts, share chat etc before I buy or sell.
SSE down 54p today, ex divi follows near end of month, another drop of at least 56p when ex divi. Held this share over many years, sold back in March 20 due to Covid. Been looking to buy back in, but I think SSE have had their day. Just my opinion.
A few brokers have 1600p as target, there are no shorts, £200M of shares buy back not yet cancelled, more brokers rate as a buy, no sell recommendations, all appears favourably for SSE, however we all have to decide to sell or buy depending on our financial circumstances. Personally I am an income investor and with the divi having just been reset down to 80p, & future increases of plus RPI, 6% yield depending what you bought at, all appears positive for SSE.
SSE has been a great divi payer and with the first £2000 tax free and income above £2001 taxable at 7.5%, or 28% if a 40% income tax payer, now if Labour wins the GE, tax on dividends will be 20% or 40%, that's a big tax rise for investors. Will OVO continue to buy SSE retail, when Labour are proposing to bring the big six (OVO would be one) energy retailers into public ownership. Food for thought in the next few weeks.
The trades today are 99% (A), automatic. I am no expert but computers at work ? What will happen tomorrow when the 7am RNS is read by humans ? Interesting day tomorrow. Have SSE started a turn around in their finances or are they not.
All my life hindsight has been a wonderful thing. I could have sold a few years ago at a whacking £16.70 ! but I did n't like I said about hindsight. They fell below £10 a few months ago, if I had bought then I would have a nice new profit, hindsight, they may have fell the day. This time last year a profit warning dropped the sp by £1.03, hindsight, should have sold before the PW. Best of luck everyone.
SSE reduce the total value of the company by selling a portion, therefore surely the SP will reflect this when completed by falling ? The money they receive will be used to reduce their huge £9 billion debt by £500 million. Their not using the money to "grow" so as create income from investing. The full year dividend has been reduced to 80p. A cut. 8000 less salaries to pay, a saving. I cannot see any reason at the moment to reinvest, but I am watching in the hope that a sp at below £10 may tempt me back in. A £10 sp and annual 80p dividend is an 8% return.
Thank you, Great read, I agree, I sold in April, but keeping my eye on them. Personally I think they will fall to reflect the 80p dividend next year. I'm expecting well below £10 in the short term. It's a shame I had been invested for over 20 years.
