PIC needs to hold firm by not supporting this deal at current price, SGL should be pressured to increase the offer price. And i do not see Mr Fronman walking away provided the 'ask' is not extortionate. He is obviously playing to see what he can get away with, but to allow this deal at this price is just ridiculous. I do not know whether the constitution of PIC allows it to own a company but the realised loss on their investments in Lonmin makes a compelling case for them to seek for alternatives to accepting this deal.
Am i missing something, SGL share price is down on announcement of judgement.
Hope this reverses after tomorrow's news.
At this point in time, let us hope that SGBL share's will start rising and one can at least, get a decent price for Lonmin. Somehow i think Lonmin's fate is sealed
The tone is depressingly downbeat, it is no surprise that morale is very low and the associated costs to such an atmosphere is evidenced by the increase in cost guidance. The impending takeover and a board that have quite clearly lost an interest in the company is the problem.
Investec increases holdings to over 6.1 million shares. Any idea as to what could be at play
UPDATE 1-South African court blocks mine union's plan for industry-wide strike
And Majedie Asset Management. Wonder what is going on, hopefully positive
Apologies, annoying when the auto correct changes things.
Ruffer LLP - had a look at their website, no reference to Lonmin but could see they have some activities/interest with mining companies in USA and Americas.
Rastuss: Thank you. You are right, in that its gone quiet and that is worrying. I will give it to Mr Frontman though, the man is not afraid of a fight.
When we are expecting this to climb above 70, it's gone the other way. Any thoughts.
I have not seen anything about the strike happening (at least as at Thursday) in the platinum belt, is AMCU holding fire
This AMCU fellow is a real pain. He is obviously emboldened by his victory in the last shrike. I hope the state and Frontman remain steadfast in their determination not to give in to his demands.
Has AMCU extended the Sibanye Gold strike to the platinum belt.
Rastuss: Thanks
Lonmin share price unchanged in JSE exchange, hopefully the market will not react badly
Poor results, meanwhile Sibanye share price is rising. Could have something to do with the bid failing
Rastuss, thanks.
Rastuss,
Is this what happened in 2014, did the government/Lonmin caved in and accede to AMCU's demands
Secondly, can you please direct me to where i can get information on the daily trades (for any shares listed on the LSE)
Why the drop at close. Any ideas
