'the Spanish government is under great pressure and is seriously short of funds. The reason the Urbanisation Permit has been denied by the local authority is purely down to austerity in Spain' Totally clueless! 'A lot of the voices against are very vocal on social media and have no connection with the area.' I am a local villager, from Villavieja de Yeltes, to be precise.
Broxburn68, you simply have no clue or are deliberately trying to confuse the readers of this chat. Anyone can make a single search in Google to find out how wrong you are...If you rely on BKY's press notes everything is going smooth and "we are pouring concrete right at the bottom of the Uranium price cycle". Fortunately, the facts are starting to contradict these fake news. Remember the local permit was imminent in September and start of construction in 2018...
You're welcome NigWit. As I have already made clear, I haven't any interest in the share price. Maybe the final decision is different, yes, but we are in the right path with resolutions like these. Don't misjudge (as BKY's did) the power of the local opposition, which is now quite awake against this project (My opinions are just that, unlinked to any group and as such, irrelevant -silly silly silly silly:))
"Won’t the EU have a few words too, given they subsidised the project?" Definitely not!! Maybe the motorway that passes nearby received some funds 20 years ago, yes.. but that doesn't make "this project subsidised", does it?? Yes, I want this project to be dead, hopefully confirmed next year. And yes, I'll persist expressing my opinions against it and disseminating any good news like yesterday's. Why don't you buy shares now, then? Don't miss this great moment!!
"I’ll be amazed if the future of the project can be determined by a local authority decision. Surely something so significant, funded by EU money, has to get referred up?" NigWit, this has been already addressed at Regional (Junta de Castilla y León) and National (CSN + Government) level. It's the government who has the final decision, which should consider the CSN report due in 2019. Even with a (likely) change of Government is is highly unlikely this thing goes through... Happy Xmas and New Year!
Welcome to the forum Cookie1977! Yes, my Twitter account reflects my position on the mine. My account has my real name (even portrait picture). If you keep googling you can also find my professional details, everything public and well known by BKY, including PA; I have nothing to hide. Merry Xmas all!! There is life after BKY... https://youtu.be/J9bBykmwhuw
"According to a document obtained by Reuters on Saturday, the municipality of Retortillo ruled on Dec. 19 against the mine, saying Berkeley did not own the land needed for the project and the company had failed to present the relevant documentation." https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-spain-uranium-berkeleyenergia/spanish-village-denies-building-permit-to-berkeley-energia-uranium-project-idUKKCN1OL0F2
No fake news, NigWit. Scanned copy of the resolution here: https://twitter.com/Curromesa/status/1076162111594811392?s=19 They have now to face fines for carrying out illegal works...
DENEGADA LA LICENCIA URBANÍSTICA PARA EL PROYECTO DE BERKELEY MINERA ESPAÑA, S.L.- DENIED THE URBAN LICENSE FOR THE PROJECT OF BERKELEY MINERA SPAIN, S.L. THE TOWN HALL OF RETORTILLO DENIEGA TO BERKELEY MINERA ESPAÑA, S.L. THE URBAN PLANNING LICENSE FOR THE URANIO MINING PROJECT The City Council of Retortillo has issued a Resolution dated December 19, 2018, which denies that license to the mining company.
Not anti-nuclear, no groups, no hard-left... Just normal people defending their way of life, their farms, their lands, their JOBS!! You should travel to Salamanca to witness one of these meetings. It's clear that you have a very distorted image of the reality in Salamanca.
Fosterite, I have no particular interest in the share price of this company, as I already told you. I am only expressing personal opinions (can't I?). If you disagree with my opinions or think they are not funded, simply ignore me, please... Regarding the "exaggerated by a factor of ten" comment, maybe you find interesting the comment made by PA to the journalist who publish the following article: http://www.mining.com/thousands-protest-uranium-mine-spain/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter And then judge who's trying to manipulate. Good luck elsewhere.
"You appear to be suggesting that there is a giant conspiratorial fraud, between BKY and the independent resource assessors." These are hard words Fosterite. However, for a better estimate of the available resources you should apply a knock-down factor of approximately 10. BKY has repeatedly exaggerated the numbers by a factor of 10...
It's completely difficult for me to understand how come you're wasting your time replying to a very very very silly person like me or why aren't you putting all your available money in such a great project, especially today that the shares are below 9p... Very cheap indeed.
