It's hard to say what will happen the SP EX div, my intention has always been to sell prior to ex div, maybe even on this Thursday's results, but I can keep an open mind as things develop .. a few investors splashing out big money today, hopefully a good sign ..
I'm also unsure of the outcome of this .. I'm hoping for a good Q3 and Christmas statement on 14th January, it should show very good Christmas trading and healthy bank balence, if the price is above 250p then I'll consider selling .. remember we could be in the doldrums in January and February and the share price could slip back to nearly 200p, then the special dividend won't look so special .. only my opinion again ..
Yeah, I understand they have the money allocated, but once they receive the proceeds surely they have a bank balance that is 8 billion to the good (untill they spend it) surely this pushes up the share price .. (again, till they spend it)
I wouldn't have thought they have received the proceeds yet and also I believe there is to be a meeting and vote on the proposal to pay the special dividend, so it might not actually happen .. just my view ..
Sounds right to me, you get cash, you give it away and your back to square one .. surely the optimum period for this share is when they receive the proceeds of the sale and before they fritter it away?
People will gorge themselves well into January, what they don't eat they will throw away and buy more .. it's already a record breaking 4 weeks .. then maybe brexit will become an issue, but as Incle_Doug says, we'll all still need to eat ..
Not sure, but one at 18m, three at 2m, 1m, and a handful at 500k plus .. probably 20 buys in all over 100k .. I always check out the activity after 4.30pm as maybe an indication of the day ahead .. good news today regarding sales and a whopper of a month ahead ..
I think they still have to confirm the sale, which could coincide with announcement of dividend, both would be good for the share price .. the deal is not sealed yet though, but I would guess Thailand wants the supermarket chain back in Thai hands so you would think it would proceed..
