Perhaps Dirk.
My understanding is the cost to build a mine like the one required for BAM would be circa £150m (maybe more, maybe less) and that alone would have a major hit on the expense & bottom line of any project.
It surely doesn't matter if LND hold a licence, lease or freehold.......... as long as they (or anyone else) can build a mine on the land????
I appreciate 100% that gold in the ground has arguably little value until it gets dug out the ground & sold. And PoG is very much a moving feast. What 30-40% swing in fairly recent times?
Like I mentioned before BH used to quote 'all in costs' when with PGD of circa $600-$700 per oz. Although I again realise comparing one gold project to another has its flaws. And that was in the days when PoG was barely over $1,100 mind.
I have run my own company in the past - but am happy to admit I know little of the exploration world. And always happy to be put right. Or proven wrong.
So...... according to you if they proved up the resource on BAM to between 3-4 million ozs the takeover price would be £200m.
Why on earth would any company sell a gross asset value of between $6 to $7 BILLION for a poxy £200m.
Get real.
LND is obviously worth whatever anyone is prepared to pay to take it out.
I would think that would be more than $200 per BAM oz with PoG currently at over $1,700.
BH used to quote 'all in costs' when he was with PGD. Obviously every project is different but seemed to me an industry average is circa $600 to $800 on any potentially viable mine.
That would give LND a back of fag packet net worth on BAM alone of $1billion. What would be the worth if BAM was confidently expected to contain multiple million ozs as BH confidently predicted?? Let alone the Lamaune iron ore and the nickel projects. And lithium land rights. All thrown in as a free bonus.
Thanks for that UR. Was hoping you'd say you were still a holder. Was thinking of selling my PGD holding and buying more LND. But as you rightly say PGD is now on TSX and I have old ex-LSE certificated shares and it seems a right dog's dinner to trade them. And I was wondering if you were in same boat. Hence why I asked the question.
Impossible to be sure what's going on here. Been a few false dawns over the many years. I just have a strong belief they are in the process of an end game strategy. No JV. No further exploration. Without wishing to state the obvious = there's been some chunky buys recently. And it's got to be a fair bet there was an element of some of the 'PI sheep' looking to make a fast buck yesterday on the back of the few chunky buys. Probably see a few sells over next 7-10 days if buying doesn't continue.
FOR SURE the next RNS will be hugely interesting/revealing. Having said that, the AR and AGM can't be too far off?? Weeks at most.
Looks very much like it to me. 2 million BUY trade reported after Close. Of course not reported on this platform. Tomorrow should be an interesting day - especially IF large trades like today continue.
UR - you trying to spoil my day mentioning Cookie??? FFS - don't think he was ever invested here, was he??

1) they really have no choice but to participate in any Placement. You can't ask others to do so if no Officers of the Co are.
2) I'd be amazed if this funding is sufficient to allow any significant drilling prog to be organised. If it was you'd think they'd be saying so and spelling out what + when etc.
That's only been the strategy for a relatively short period (5-6 months). They haven't done ANYTHING materially for 2 Qtrs in terms of further drilling to prove up the resource. All they appear to have done over past 5 months is raise 2 tranches of very limited funds of circa £250k to facilitate working capital to 1) engage outside independent professionals to produce technical reports and 2) allow the Company to remain solvent and a going concern to pay the ongoing bills.
There doesn't APPEAR to be any attempt or urgency to change that strategy and be trying to increase the resource. They certainty ain't gonna be able to do so with a paltry £260k. I don't agree with UR that there's loads of cash sitting in the bank account. I suspect the cupboard is pretty bare.
What I found bizarre was GF after the relatively small recent share purchases on open market has ALL OF A SUDDEN become a holder of such a significant % of the Company that it needs to be declared in public (for the very first time). I assume the fact that he is "beneficially interested" in over 50 million shares means he actually owns 50 million shares(???). That's not that far short of what BH owns. And about 4 times what RP owned!!!! As a generalisation GF as a director of LND can not buy shares in LND on the open market if he's aware of any material info (not already in the public domain) that could be seen to have an effect on the Company sp.
LND operates like a Private company. For the few. Not the many. Investor PR is appalling.
