They have to report them being closed, at the RNS's of the last few days is the only way they can do that.

Gibbnomz, they're not purchasing shares, they're buying the short position. My god, how confused are you?. Think about a RNS with just one of those trades mentioned, a) a short CFD, or b) a share buy. What would that RNS tell someone, it would tell them that a share buy has taken place or a short CFD has been taken. To RNS a short CFD closing, they RNS the BUY of that short CFD, it really is that simple.

Exactly right about the FSP ran under the takeover code as well. The only thing we have to do is wait patiently for it all to conclude tbh. The sort CFD's closing daily at the minute, does make it look like something is going to happen shortly imho.

If they didn't mention the short CFD, the RNS would read simply as a standard share buy of the amount mentioned.

People need to stop with all the confusion, it is short CFD being closed, as per RNS. The same as the ones in the days previous to now.

They can't correct your understanding of the trade ferg. They can RNS the trade, but it is up to the person reading it to interpret it correctly.
To close the short they have to BUY the position, as is RNS'd. 4 days in a row now, shorts have been closed, this is a very good sign.

Only flappers need to ring to understand what type of trade it is ferg. It is a short closing, the person on the phone can not tell you that dues to the current FSP, they're not allowed to.

So, expect all DFS work for both assets to have been completed by now. We may hear about them before deal news, we may not. But, the mining and exploration season is over for this year.

Topping up on any dips is possibly what i would be doing if i was a newcomer. Tbh i think the ii's have us where we are with putting buy orders through in the background around this level. Probably more short positions to close around here as well, i wouldn't be surprised to see another 8.5 today tbh.

It's just an example of what the sp will do on deal announcement. Not really much point in trying to disect anything more than that, they're a different company in a different position.
The sp will go to around the deal level, that's all.

I would say so arsenalles. 8 is the meaty part and time consuming part of it all, especially for the legal representatives of both sides, but, once it's done we're all good to go. It really is just down to how long that takes from DLA Piper arriving and getting it done imho.

Interesting, it's a another example of what the sp will probably do on deal announcement. Their percentage jump is quite lower than the 160% of the last example we saw. Neither have been PGM & gold miners, with significant copper and nickel though. But, it does show that deals are very much being done in the present climate. I hope the shareholders there got what they were after.
