Britain will flourish after quitting EU,
says tech boss

BRITAIN will thrive after Brexit, the boss of one the world’s biggest technology firms has declared.
Salesforce, which sells software to businesses and has more than 30,000 staff across the world, believes the UK will remain a top destination whatever happens with its departure from the European Union. The firm is creating an extra 900 British jobs over the next five years with a £1.9bn investment.
Speaking to the Mail in Davos, international sales chief Miguel Milano said he is very optimistic about Britain’s future. It is a vote of confidence after warnings about the risk of a No Deal Brexit from business such as Airbus, Siemens and Goldman Sachs.
Milano said: ‘No matter what happens, we will continue investing in the UK. It’s a great opportunity and a great market for us, with amazing companies we can serve.
‘We’re not seeing anything negative. Brexit doesn’t keep me up at night – nothing keeps me up at night other than our ability to hire top talent.’
Milano said European revenue at Salesforce has been growing by 31pc a year and the picture is the same in the UK. It believes Britain is likely to thrive because it has a large number of fast-growing firms with excellent leadership.
He said: ‘We have analysts who provide us with an estimate of the total available market for a firm like Salesforce in every country. The UK is among the largest in the world – one of the top three or four.’
