British Airways to use big planes for European holiday boom
Planes typically used for long-haul destinations could be diverted to serve pent-up demand among Britons to travel short haul.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner can carry 214 passengers – around 50 more than the Airbus 320 typically used for short-haul routes. Meanwhile, one its largest planes, the 777, can carry around 250 more passengers

The UK economy will be boosted by a sizeable jump in consumer spending in 2021 as pent-up savings are unwound according to economists at Deutsche Bank, who also warn that the Bank of England might be underestimating the scale of an impending consumer-lead rebound.

Analysis from Deutsche Bank released this week shows that the scale of the boost to UK economic growth from the spending of savings could amount to 1.0% of GDP, more than twice that expected by the Bank of England's economists.

An unexpectedly strong economic rebound could in turn drive inflation meaningfully above the Bank of England's 2.0% target and potentially prompt a Sterling-supportive shift in policy (interest rates hikes and/or the abandonment of quantitative easing).

The cash injection, which is significantly higher than the target of £200m, gives the company a pre-money valuation of £1.1bn. A unicorn is any privately held company with a valuation of more than £1bn.
