I don’t think you are quite getting my point. If the Gov is now reconsidering fracking (which they are) can you imagine how positive it will be towards to onshore production where no fracking is required.

I’m definitely up for fracking, most people I know think we should exploit what we have in the UK.

Maybe because it demonstrates a wholesale shift of attitude / public policy in respect of oil and gas production. That is to say, what was unthinkable 12 months ago (fracking), now looks like acceptable policy, which will not meet the same type of objection from the majoirtiy of the population which it might previously have done, all imo.

Disagree, I have never seen as mass mobilisation against fracking or oil production in the UK, rather the only protests I have seen are from a minority of local residents, l sometimes supported by extremists such as extinction rebellion and the like.
