The new Omani mining law adopted 14/03/2019 states license holders will need to pay 'a minimum of 5% of the annual output of their mining activities in royalties, as opposed to a maximum of 10% under the old law'. So it is not a simple halving exactly, it is a MINIMUM of 5%, so I guess at least in theory it could still be 10% - not clear how it is worked out.
Yes I'm a bit puzzled by that CM. Hope we will not have a Portuguese government deciding to allocate licences on basis of successful applications for licences elsewhere in the world. We would be toast.
So in short, no, we do not yet have a licence for this area. Well that's fine, DA has demonstrated with the two other projects how good he is in obtaining mining licences.
Base Resources have today published their Madagascan mineral sands project PFS after 10 months. We are still waiting for ours after 20 months. When our PFS start was announced in RNS of August 2017 it was stated 'we're pleased that the first stage of the Mutamba PFS has been contracted to TZMI. Having completed the Scoping Study for us, TZMI is well placed to undertake the work and deliver a quick outcome'. Quick outcome ? In an RNS in September 2018 it was stated 'the scoping phase of the Pre-Feasibility Study for the Mutamba project is progressing well with anticipated completion in Q1 2019' - does anyone know how many 'phases' the PFS has ?
