Ahead of the upcoming launch of Wyld Connect, its satellite IoT solution, Wyld Networks today announce a partnership with the global oil and gas actor Chevron to pilot a solution to enable remote sensor connectivity within Chevron’s IoT infrastructure.
The solution aims to improve efficiency within the Chevron oil and gas operational environment by collecting data from IoT sensors in remote locations. Wyld Networks and Chevron will pilot Wyld Connect to evaluate the solution to collect sensor data from multiple infrastructure assets.
Wyld Connect is a sensor to satellite IoT technology developed by Wyld Networks that enables data to be cost-effectively collected anywhere in the world in areas where there is no cellular wireless coverage.
This data provides insight and information to help reduce equipment downtime and enable preventative maintenance to ensure improved operational efficiency within complex infrastructure in the oil and gas environment.
“Information capture through satellite connected IoT is fast becoming essential for companies looking to operate more efficiently in multiple market sectors from agriculture, maritime, to the oil and gas industry,” said Alastair Williamson, CEO of Wyld Networks.
“We are delighted to be a part of Chevron’s ambitions to capture data from previously difficult to reach and poorly connected areas to deliver efficiency and sustainability. Our ambition is to establish an ongoing commercial relationship with Chevron after a successful pilot of our solution.”
