The Grand Tour host celebrated the launch of his Hawkstone lager less than a week ago, but unprecedented demand has resulted in a limited supply as fans stock up for Christmas.

The beverage, which is made using malt barley grown on Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm in The Cotswolds, entered the online beer chart at number one just eight hours after it went on sale to the public.

I knew one farmer that had a great 50 years farming up to about 1976.
After that it was not worth his son taking over the farm to farm it.
The son made more money renting out the farm cottages and building new properties.
