Honestly rafafan... that's something that's impossible to even guess on. Glencore hasn't even acknowledged it yet with an RNS. No idea whether it's true or not, no idea if the SFO are acting on a strong intelligence source close to the directors. But a pure guess, I'll be surprised if this blows over quickly. I've never seen anything like this happen quickly, PFC being an example. This stock is nuts at times haha. But do I think it will ruin Glencore? Nope Is Glencore still making money? Yep I'll hold.

Anapa, Who said anything about Bankruptcy? Not me... legitimate questions I asked. Even though I'm holding, I'm not so biased as to ignore the news. I also think Glencore's share price will eventually recover. But if this is true it will hang over the company for a while... these things usually do.

Right hypothetically speaking, assuming the following... 1. Bloomberg are correct, and the SFO are actually opening an investigation into Bribery. 2. The investigation finds Bribery to have taken place. What do you think the implications for Glencore are from either A) A financial point of view. B) Regulatory point of view.

Not quite the same as stating a Fraud Investigation is being started by the Serious Fraud Office, that's too specific to pull out of their a*se mate, wrong figures is one thing this quite another.

RDR, Obviously neither you nor I know for sure if this is true. But do you honestly think an organisation the size of Bloomberg is going to lie about an investigation by the serious fraud office? Do you honestly think they don't have a strong source for something as straight to the point as this?

Monkey, Yeah just look at the trade list on the London Stock Exchange website... loads of small trades for identical sums of money, that's the Algos trying trying to manipulate the price.

This is either just a dead cat bounce, or a lot of very stupid people are piling in with large amounts of money prematurely. Has anyone ever seen a Bribery investigation end quickly? And has anyone observed what normally happens to the share price of companies in the weeks after something like this is announced?

Qz, As long as you're in with a sensible amount and you can allocate more funds to a TOTAL sensible amount, this will come good with time.

I have a feeling it's getting hit by a lot more than 10% today mate. This is why sensible amounts in companies is the way to go, it's so easy for something like this to happen. There hasn't even been an RNS about, and it's 8% just like that. It will have small bounces, that's all the lower orders getting filled... people away from their screen will come back and wonder why their order was filled so quick.

I would not be surprised to see a 20%+ down day today. Whenever there is a trust Issue in UK listed companies shares get hammered.

Lost no... this will blow over. Problem is it will take ages to get investigated... so it'll be hanging over Glencore for a while. Maybe RDR is right and it gets retracted, but I honestly don't think it will. This will be a long investigation, and uncertainty. Glad I went in small. I will add when the share price has been hammered... if this drags on I would not be surprised to see 270's here. And no I'm not trying to worry people, I'm speaking my mind. I can show screenshots proving I'm a holder if anyone fancy's having a dig.

A lot of Algo trades for the same amounts going through,that's the shorters at the Institutionals working the stock after the news.

Maybe it is, but I think it's more likely to be true. Bloomberg wouldn't quote something like that and face liable damages unless they had a strong source. Even if the money is no big deal to them, their reputation is. This is happening mate, no doubts about it. And it's the DRC we're talking about... you surprised?
