I personally can’t see the government stopping furlough before restaurants open! They can’t have that many people not being paid. I think end of June for restaurants to fit the furlough ending. I’m not an expert of course but just my thinking. I also don’t think they would leave the tech team working if they weren’t working on something big to launch when this all ends. Maybe this will be the new delivery function as the one with the 9 restaurants currently needs some work as it was thrown together in a week or 2.
I agree Sam it’s getting very petty! I wouldn’t mind if the deramper actually cared about Dish and thare trying to be constructive but Green has admired he’s only here to mess with Ronald. Shouldn’t be using this board to do that! Very childish!
Seems like a pretty boring day for you anyway, refreshing this chat when you have no investment! You need to talk about anything? You sound a little sour!
Lemon drop, I think what Tanya is trying to say is that even if restaurants stay closed the telesales team can still focus on recruiting takeaway restaurants. Meaning they’re not just sitting on their hands waiting for restaurants to reopen! All I see you post is negative posts and yet you say you have no investment here? Don’t understand why somebody who has no investment spends so long talking rubbish when you have nothing to gain? Very strange...
I agree that there will be a group of people who won’t rush to go back to restaurant, some who are too scared and some who have been told they can’t, as they’re higher risk. One thing is for sure restaurants will re-open and there will be people who want to use them. As people have been receiving less money due to Covid there will be even more demand for discounting. Not only that but restaurants will need to look for more flexible services who focus more on yield management, rather than a more rigid company like tastecard.
I also think that management here have done a great job at identifying that restaurants will be very different for a while and maybe won’t be focusing too much on delivery, hence why they’ve added in delivery. They are clearly thinking delivery will play a big part in restaurants in the future. I will be very interest on Saturday to hear from Aidan where they see the delivery option going. There is a lot of doom and gloom in the world and negativity but we need to all look at how Dish sit in the market and how they will bounce back over other companies, not just how the world will bounce back. I’ve said it before, I would back Dish over any other company in the market with what they offer!
Some good news is on the way from Aidan on Saturday so we should see this share start to seriously rocket from next week! I was looking at Aidan’s LinkedIn and he’s changed his title, hinting at Dish coming out of Covid stronger than before. I think he’s setting this all up ahead of some exiting news on Saturday!]
They can afford to discount as they’re paying over 30% to other company’s to deliver. Even if they give a 20% discount they will be better off than big competitors. One of my friend works in a restaurant and they had to pay JustEat £1,000 as a upfront cost for joining. They also don’t get any control with JustEat and can’t manage times and days like Dish. I think from a restaurant point of view Dish has a lot of USP’s. Main thing is making the app look as good as JustEat, for customers. Maybe they should look at adding the option to order through the app rather than calling the restaurant to order?
Lemonade. You’re not even invested here so don’t know why you spend so much of your time on this chat? I’ve lost money in your last ESL recommendation so won’t be listening to any of your investment advice. Dish will be on the up this week and will have a huge jump when Aidan speaks on the 9th! Looking forward to seeing what he as to say and to hear what’s coming in addition to delivery!
I agree Ron, good news is on the way! Looking forward to finding out what Aidan has been working on, in the background!
Takeaway is there for delivery, but currently no collection option. Hope this is added once restaurants start opening back up properly!
If I were Dish I wouldn’t even be looking to charge restaurants for delivery, to start off with. This is a new concept for them and will have a huge advantage over JustEat and Deliveroo if they decide not to charge, to start off with, to help restaurants get back on their feet. I will be interested to see if they also decide to move this to collection, as I think some restaurants will be forced to do a lot more collection in the coming months. Just a thought!
Having thousands of restaurants would be nice but I wouldn’t want Dish to follow in wastecards footsteps. I got one with my bank and was the biggest waste of plastic ever. Had to call restaurants to book and every time got told they couldn’t take my booking. Much better with Dish as the system does all the work! Don’t think wastecard will be around much longer if they can’t move with the times!
I personally think good news will come today or tomorrow from our Boris!
Exactly Tanya, just added to my holding. I think this can go up 300%-400% if Boris gives us some good news today or sometime! Time to make some nice profit!
Things won’t be plain sailing in any industry when lockdown is lifted. Restaurants will re-open but with limited tables and distance but won’t affect how Dish operate. If anything they are in the best as possible place with the control they give restaurants. I’d back Dish over any of the other competition to come out of this on top!
Great point. The new government scheme will surly mean the industry can stay alive.
Italy are opening restaurants on the 1st of June. Saying we’re only a couple of weeks behind them, I can see the UK following very soon! Great news for Dish.
You disliking 2 share holders isn’t a reason to not invest! I agree to do your own research, which I’ve done and everything is pointing towards a buy! Good time to be getting shares now as the bounce back will mean big rises.
The way I see the delivery option is yes, no more venues can be added due to the team being furloughed, in the UK. But they have created this complete new arm to the company, in what 2-3 weeks! That’s crazy, how quickly they’ve adapted to the times. Shame we can’t also see more delivery venues joining as no team are working, but 10-11 sites in a short period of time, for a brand new product, shows this is something venues are willing to join. Hopefully Tom and the team and grow this quickly like they have restaurants, at the start of the year!
There is no way this will be Christmas, as some articles show. People are just waiting now to get out of their homes and get back to normal life! They will be more eager than ever to dine out once the doors have been opened. Can’t see them staying closed longer than May/June. First thing I will be doing is going out for food and going to the pub!
