Wow. Been waiting over 10 years for that. Maybe my heating will be on this winter after all...

A name change, re branding, 10 for 1 swap and this divi now smashing it's rivals. The Fred the shred RBS toxic bank narrative is hopefully no more and is seen a good safe investment for invester looking for a divi.

On another note, as a holder of LLOY also .again RBS has outperformed on the divi. I remember a while back someone was asking whether to invest in Lloyd or NWG for the divi.

"There's not much difference between dividend yield between NWG and Lloyds. At todays SP dividend yield on NWG is 4.8%, Lloyds is 4.2%."

At todays price maybe not, but historically NWG divi has been greater then LLOY. Although LLOY did started paying it 5 years before NWG were allowed to.

Yes ive been looking myself at selling my LLOY also.

I have been keeping en eye on LGEN which pay a very generous divi

Ive owned both for years. LLOY always thought to be healthier bank compared to RBS toxic tax payer owned bank

RBS have re-branded to NWG, done a 10 for 1 all in attempt to change the perception of the bank.

However, the RBS divi yield is far greater than lloyds.

In fact, the lloy dividend is extremely poor

Regardless of balance sheet this share will always have a perception of being toxic.

I bought RBS at 20p a few weeks after it went down to 13p in the crash

After all these years, all the changes - management, branding, 10 for 1, results etc. The SP is no further forward than when it hut rock bottom.

Can anyone advise on how the purchase share price is determined when using this option?

if a 10% yielding dividend is a very poor dividend - can you please point me in the direction of a stock which pays a good dividend.

I have been an RBS holder since Jan 2009. I purchased a week after they were as low 11/13p and paid 22p. Now ten + years on they are back to 2009 crash prices.

Unfortunately for me , i got greedy added along the way at 30p, 40p and even 54p. Hence sitting on a significant loss.

These have been an absolute basket case of a toxic share which for some reason I have became attached to and cant let go.

So for me, this dividend for the 2019 results (22p) is a much welcome sweetener to the self inflicted turmoil RBS have put me through.

My only other share which pays a divi is LLOY has far outperformed that in 2019 in terms of yield.

Long may this divi continue, in 15 years time my paper losses may be compensated.

i think the overall divi was extremely generous last year, especially the sep paymemt. id settle for similar. eagerly awaiting friday to see where the ball has landed on the roulette wheel.
