Oligarch, why was going to University a wast of time?? a 2-2 may not be the greatest degree, but spending some extra tim in education even if only for the sake of education is by no means a waste of time. Should we jusat turf our kids out of education at 16/18??

Apologies IsleworthSpy, I dont check this board every day. My thoughts where such that taking an RMG fine & distributing it among other industries is just plain wrong & as such the workforce & unions would be rageful. Fines & penalties are a part of RMG set up, and as such Ofcom are entitled to make that fine. However passing that fine directly to another industry to distribute among those workers is an abhorrent thought to me. ATB JMC

SCD. I am in a similar position. I have dipped in & out over the the years & have £18500 in 8069 shares (also have 3 sets of 227 @ £3.30 from launch). So my average excl divi is 2.29 which is great. Unfortunately I sold a holding of 7945 on 4th Jan @ £5.25 (clever me :)), only to repurchase 8069 @ 5.142 on the 10th Jan. How i wish I had been clever enough to wait. I am seriously considering selling my 3500 BARC & puting allmy eggs in a RMG basket. Fingers crossed that we get back into the £5-6 Range. J

Dynamofc, I do understand that & in no way trying to be disparraging to delivery operatives,

I do know a couple of posties & the "slog" is a bonus in keeping them fit & healthy.

I know that this is probably not the case for everyone & would suggest that that is perhaps one of the reasons that some new starts leave.

If staff are being employed on 25hr contracts & consistantly required to do more in order to minimise holiday costs etc, then that is just plain wrong. It does not seem to me however that the hourly rate in itself is much too low based on the skillset required in order to carry out the duties & responsibilities of the job.

Dynamofc. Ah ok so £300 pw is for a very short working week so approx £12 ph. If that is pro rata'd to a 40hr week then we are talking c£25000 pa (UK average 2021 £25971) for a manual worker. I'm sorry but I dont think that is disgraceful. My average working week is 50 hrs in sales with no overtime. That is what is required of me in order to make a living that I can "live with". Comparing salaries based on 25 hr working week is obfuscation.

Redceo, I understand, however my question to Dynamofc was genuine, not sh 1t stirring, If 31.5 hrs @ nmw is all that is being given then that would be shocking. I understand overtime, however if this becomes ongoing it is no longer "overtime" & should be included as normal working hours.

Dynamofc, I might be a bit thick, but by my reckoning even on minimum wage £300 pw is only 31.5 hrs. Am i missing something??

Surely CWU realise that if DK where to buy (steal) this company then empoyment ts & cs over thelonger term would be detrimental to their members. Yet it is PARTLY by their actions that the SP is depresswd & thus making it more attractive to DK, the longer it goes on bringing his highest purchase price in 12 months down. I am unfortunately in @ 5.15 so certainly dont want it bought @ the moment.

OliGarch, try reducing anything that is given & all of a sudden, threats of industrial action and the share tumbles AGAIN

Dynamofc, I consider myself a socialist & pro Union, I beleive that the many are stronger than the few. I also beleive that there are unions who want to justify their existance at any cost. I beleive in balance & fair pay, if the pay & rewards are not fair for the effort input then perhaps it is time for unhappy employees to seek alternative employment based on their skillset @ a higher premium. There must always be compromise. As stated earlier, IF inflation reduces would the workforce be willing to take a cut? Perhaps a solution is a one off annual grant in order to mitigate the most recent huge spike in COL (affecting us all).

AngerShark. I understand, my comment was just a “little” tongue in cheek. Trying to point out that CWU & Staff generally don’t want owners to share in profits, when deflation happens as it inevitably will, at some point & to some degree. Will they take a reduction. I speak as someone in private employment who has dropped approx 20% in real money (not adjusted for inflation) since 2018. I have the choice as everyone does to attempt to seek more beneficial employment & therefore it is unfair of me to moan about it.

Redceo, I hope you are right, I sold all of my shares @ 525 & repurchased @ 514.2, I own 8750 & this is currently a significan (paper) loss to me. Thank god my nuts are steel. :)

I think the only sensible option for CWU & workforce is to secure funding & buy the company, they can then take all the profits for themselves. this seems to be what they want & dont beleive that the "OWNERS" ofthis business should be allowad a return on their investment.
