Oligarch, in truth the shares "owe" me less than £18k as they where purchased with the proceeds of RMG shares that i had averaging £2ish & taking into account divis.

However the £4.58 is what they stand me at today.

I am not overly concerned as I beleive that they will (eventually) come back & I dont need the funds immediately.

Bres1960, what sort oc C U next Tusday are you? I have these shares at an average of £4.58 as i bought them at the wrong time. I purchased them with money that was made previously by buying & selling these shares since 2013. My true cost of ownership is much less, however I still paid on average £4.58 for this last tranch. I am not concerned as I am happy to hold.

I am sick to death of posties going on about "shareholders" asw if it is a disease, These "shareholders" are the OWNERS of the business, they invested their money in an attempt to grow the business & therefore grow their money. Embittered employees seem to think that all the profits should be distributed among the workers. Simon T is a spanner but there is noone as disingenuous as Dave Ward - he is taking you down the rabbits hole boys & I beleive that a lot of you will end up very much worse off, BUT NOT DAVE he'll be ok with his 6 frigure salary. Unfortunately the IDS strike (unlike some others) does not hurt the Govt directly.

Most of your points are fair, perhaps you need to look more closely at the electorate who were stupid enough to keep them in power in 2017 & 2019. There will be a generation of deniers who will swear that they did not vote Tory & allow all of this to happen.

But hey ho - WE GOT BREXIT DONE - so perhaps their vote to keep the tories in power was worth it.

What you are choosing not to see is that these pressures are on a lot of us in these unprecedented times. Many of us have had wages stagnate.

With regards to public sector workers, we must remember that those wages are generated by tax payers.

It is time for ALL parties to negotiate in good faith. A fair & structured series of pay awards over an agreed timescale would seem appropriate to me.

However, Ward & Lynch are on a power trip & neither will want to accept a deal which is perceived to be worse than the others. But both will still be in lucrative employment while workforce is diminished. The unions currently are self-serving & not doing the best by their members IMHO.

Unfortunately the CWU seems to be unbending & IMHO are now alienating the general public (like me).

DW does not want anything other than victory for himself or total destruction of IDS.

We are all hurting in these unprecedented times of real time net wage loss.

I have been a socialist all my life & will continue to be, however it seems to me that the whole purpose of the "UNIONS" at the moment is to create more power for themselves @ the expense of their members, the businesses & the business owners (shareholders).

Sorry, but I think it is simply CWU attempt at a power play. They are more interested in their perceived strength than the true welfare of their members. They do not seem interested in keeping the company viable simply trying to justify their existence. Let’s see how many unemployed posties this time next year due to following CWU.

I must be very very naive to believe that the proposed accelerated job losses are anything to do with the current dispute.

Is it your position that these losses would have come even if the CWU had accepted RMG (IDS) measly terms?

So basically: Nothing to do with CWU. The shareholders (owners) do not deserve a return on investment. Me personally, I have invested my pot in this company & I am going through the same cost of living increases as the employees.

There needs to be an equitable solution, but CWU do not seem to be interested in equanimity.

How many of its members will lose jobs because of their greed for power & obstinace.
